My bubbles died so that Torrent could gallop  (that said I'm probably gonna use my main file for the DLC anyway... And promptly ditch whatever I've been using and Nioh it up with the fists, probably  ) Lol mate. I’ve read through the patch notes and I can’t see your bubble gun getting a nerf? There’s a few PvP weapon changes and a few tweaks but not your horn |

Aunt AlisonER physical melee without summons is absolutely doable, but it's harder than previous Souls games, at least in boss battles. They tried to make bosses harder in large part by making them counter-intuitive, so where DS3 bosses were (in comparison) more about sharpening your instincts, ER bosses are more about sheer trial and error and memorisation. Some of them can be quite fun once you've learned them, but that takes a while and it's an uphill struggle. And, well, quite a few are just BS. They actually have much more openings than what it seems like, but again they tend to be counter-intuitive and hard to find. Watching pros on Youtube definitely was an eye-opener, some bosses that seem outright impossible to get a single hit in actually give you an endless chain of openings if you know them. Also never forget the new stance breaking mechanic, which is very powerful if used effectively and it's a lot of fun because it's an incentive to keep pressure on the boss--it's this mechanic I missed the most when I was playing DS3. A very strong physical weapon that's easily obtainable very early, is the Bloodhound Fang. It's a great choice that can carry you well through the entire game if that's what you want. You can use a lot of different things, but if you're struggling more than you'd like but don't want to betray your intended play style, this weapon certainly deserves a try.

ER isn't the 10/10 game as everyone portrays but it is truly incredible all the same. It is very difficult to solo through bosses, particularly end game ones, but it's also the most accessible. There's all kinds of NPC summons that can handle bosses all on their own in some cases. You can summon friends. Wide variety of spells and weapons. I used the beginner greatsword and tuned it to Faith to suit my character. Used it from beginning of the game until the end. It's very accommodating. But yes there are some nonsense bosses with multi string, area clearing combos or mob bosses that make it very difficult to get hits in. And even by From's standards, the story/lore is near inpenetrable without a guide. Mutliple characters and terminology going under false aliases at times madness.
Still, that doesn't mean Im not dying to play the DLC. It's not a 10/10 but they're still masters of their craft

I probably wasn't playing this tonight, but no preload on PC means I definitely won't be. They tricked me with 6GB update that I assume must be the balance patch.

(I caught DadFE's COVID and it's on the sweat-your-bollocks-off fever stage, made worse by the heat... Test this morning said no, but we have the exact same symptom progression except mine are a day late, so... I don't think I'll be able to play tonight folks!)

Quite a bit cheaper on cdkeys, already have my key and added to steam  Proper shame I'm off work for a bit too 😂 Slight bummer, my second run through hasn't got to mogh yet but is level 120. My 150 is in Ng+ and hasn't got much done in there yet. Have to get Moggy killed tomorrow. |

Will you be able to call him again after a cooldown mid fight or do you need one of those items? That pop up is also really freaking annoying
Killing him did feel good though

Speedy recovery to both FEs!!
A proper double hard rowing session this evening (SIT IN MY BIG ARMS JAMBO) means I’m going to be sailing off to beddybye island pretty soon. So sadly my own foray into the DLC will need to begin tomorrow evening.

So many times I got off my horse without meaning to. STRESS

I think maybe I healed through it when I beat him myself- in co op, I only have 5 flasks, and I’m using three of them just for his nihil ring attack so I’m running out if I take any other hits! We go on…
