I have for the first time just used the bubble horn weapon and now regretting not using it earlier. For big bosses and even smaller enemies it wrecks things.
Admittedly I'm late game and it is +9 but I was struggling with lord plasidusax with my strength build and it made the fight so easy especially with the mimic using it as well.
I only have Radagon and the beast to do. Playtime 70 hours. Roll on Friday.

Ah bum, I can't get this til payday. Probably for the best I won't do fuck all work otherwise. I want the FFXIV expansion too. Maybe I should set up a gofundme in my cat's name That sucks friend! I’m going to spend the day in my underwear playing elden ring until my eyes hurt. With the occasional wee and refreshment breaks. Mainly coke, crisps, pizza and chocolate. I have the day off and no one at home. I could probably land on over time shift but we all know what is the right thing to do that day. My posts that day on here will likely be sayings it’s total bs and unfair as the first boss pulls my pants down then after I beat it the game is the best game ever since double dragon.

And thus the Cult of Bubble Trouble gains a new member Our own attempt on Placidusax with the Longhorn could've been possibly the safest I've ever felt on a Souls boss if I'd been tactical, but I was a bit too trigger happy and pushed him into phase 2 instead of letting him recover and stunning him again for the kill, so he started teleporting and rushing around... Still a victory, just far more dangerous than it needed to be!

Turns out that the Mimic Tear absolutely wrecks Rykard. I had a feeling that the mimic would get confused in the fight, but, no, turns out that little Leroy just charges on in and doesn't stop spamming the attacks. Rykard was the only one that got confused.

I believe you can pre-load it from Wednesday too - it’s ~16.5Gb on PS5.
Happy days

If I’m not mistaken I believe the rivers of blood got severely nerfed. Not sure though. Just what my friend told me and he’s way more knowledgeable and upto date than I. Again? Ffs, I respecced to use that ages ago and then they nerfed it. Now its been nerfed again? Dear god. I'll load it up soon and see what else I've got. And check my level.

The nerf honestly wasn't too bad and IIRC the one you're talking about was the only one (unless they made another, PvP only nerf after they started doing that)

Boughted!
Not sure why I waited until now, there was never the smallest scintilla of doubt about purchasing it. Still, it feels good, and I get to entertain myself by watching the countdown for the next few days. Result!

Also bought over the weekend and not sure why I waited. I did baulk a bit at the £35 asking price, but hopefully this will be quite a substantial DLC.
Still need to beat Lord of Blood and probably still quite low level (just hit level 100). Hopefully will be ready for release.

Yeah I'll buy it if I ever get that far.
Given I've played 3 characters on 3 platforms (for reasons that felt sensible at the time), who knows which one I'll buy the expansion on.

Hmm got the original on Xbox... but have since built a modern gaming PC (and also own a Steam Deck) so I think I'll get it on Steam. Looks like £65 for the bundle which is a bit much...
Might get on Xbox after all, I guess apart from anything else it means I won't need to play through to beating Mohg again, there aren't enough hours in the day!

stixxuk Did they improve the loading times on Xbox? It was something like 20 seconds when it originally came out. I bought the pc bundle for £65 due to my wife hogging the TV and the loading times with an SSD is quite short. The ps5 is even quicker. Food for thought when considering the many deaths that will no doubt occur. Looks good on PC too.
Edit: sounds like it has been improved for a while, about half the time originally.

It's £50.99 for the base game + DLC collection for Steam on CDkeys.
The question is when do you get the key? Now or Friday?
Update: Just bought an Xbox key for the DLC from them and it arrived straight away. (£27.29 if anyone's interested)

Worth noting, PC performance is still a mixed bag. I'm on a 4090 and even with that ray tracing is too erratic for me to want to leave it on. There are still lots of shader stutters too, although perhaps not as bad as it was at launch. I imagine image quality between PC and console isn't that different either. Some don't have any issues and often with lesser systems than mine, so you might be fortunate, but probably not worth it if you already have it on Xbox.

Ehhh I think I'll maybe get it on Xbox.
Thanks for the CDkeys tip though, that's a much more palatable price if I did want to get it on PC.
I don't recall major loading time issues in my Xbox playthrough, but my point of comparison at the time would have been Bloodborne on PS4!

Done. Done and done and done. Finally got 100% achievements on PC, which means this is the first game I've ever maxed out on 3 different formats. You'd think I'd be well and truly sick of it by now, wouldn't you? All I can say is bring on Friday

Oh good shout on the CDkeys credit angle, I always forget about that (35 quid for the DLC, but can use CDkeys for cheaper credit). Miiiiight be able to stretch and get it on Friday if I don't look at my account. Preorders give nothing of note

I didn’t mention it as I assumed everyone on pc and Xbox already did that. I pretty much buy everything off cd keys unless it’s on Xbox or steam sale. Always the cheapest place.
Not long now gentlemen…

To be fair we do get psn credit a teeny bit cheaper there. Not much mind you.

Reviews have dropped, very superlative and currently sitting at 94 on Metacritic.
EG gave it 3/5 which seems to be the only outlier at the moment.

EG likes to be special.
I’m not going to check reviews as all their games are 9s or 10s, they’ve proven themselves over what 7-8 games in a row now? Incredible record. Plus the dlc content has always been very good to excellent.

I'd love to read the EG review but don't want to read any before I've sunk a fair bit of time into the game. I know what you mean peacemaker - EG can revel in being contrarian at times, but even so I'm happy there's some critical pushback there (some - 3/5 is still pretty good). Not going to read any of them yet though. No sir. No...

Like some other recent EG reviews, fair points are made, but ones that personally won't detract from my enjoyment of the game in question in any way.
Seems like another generous expansion from Fromsoft.
