I've gotta say the performance of this on Series X and PS5 in performance doesn't sound particularly great. That it can't seem to lock to 60fps is a worry. In this I game I would need a locked 60. Partial to a bit of From Software jank, myself. |

Stupid question but given I'm likely to be considerably time poor for the next few months, does it seem like it'll be good to play for an hour at a time?
I normally shirk open world games because they're just too big to yield any sense of accomplishment when you can't put in hours at a time, but I really, really want to play it...

Haha, I nearly tried that but decided not to  I've got to go out for a few hours and it was quite difficult quitting the game. Blimey. It's the outside and the options and choices - it turns it into a completely different game. I think now I can level up or buy stuff or upgrade plus having the horse is going to make for some fun. I've done fuck all, and there are a million things I want to check out already! |

Note on the Nextlander podcast, for any who listen: they give fair warning of spoilers, and definitely cover some early game details that some folks will want to avoid. But also they detail a couple of early game things that are “easy to miss”, which I’m glad I know in advance. YMMV.
I was going to post it here behind spoiler tags, but I’m nervous cos it’s hard to describe in a way that allows an informed decision- message if you really want to know.

Think I'm going to have to roll a character with some more oomph until I know where some early upgrades are, bandit and its knife is a bit squishy and has very little damage output on non trash

Oh god, some of the clips I've seen of the stuttering on PC gives me very little hope of bothering with this for more than an hour before looking at a refund.

Hopeful something that can be rectified, though, as it appears to be happening across all hardware setups. Just seen a clip of a major Twitch streamer suffering significant stutter/lag during a particular boss fight. Believe he's running a 3090/12900k.
Will give it a crack when it's available. Steam allows for two hours no questions asked, yeah?

Think I just beat a main boss and got a weapon where I need 42 strength and 14 Dex! Won't be using that any time soon.
Defo the most o.p. thing so far is the guard counter. Hold block and as the enemy hits your guard you press heavy attack. Wrecks.
