I explored south instead of following the light. Ended up with about 3 levels worth of souls and was desperately trying to find the next bonfire! Just found it with no heals left. Get in!

Prisoner's mask looks so weird to me but he starts with a staff and a sorcery, but Samurai starts with a bow and a katana, but Prisoner has much higher starting Intelligence, but but but... Good thing I've got a few days before it arrives to think about it some more I guess! |

Urgh, just read the updated DF article on EG there. I really hope performance issues aren't going to fuck over first-time experience. Fact that they're even willing to suggest holding off on PC version for a few patches is worrying. Ruh-roh |

It does sound like this is the most accessible one by far though so you should be alright.
Either way I'd still imagine you get a good deal of fantastic game out of it before you do decide to kick it off the wall.
