Little from column A, little from column B, but the plagiarism absolutely soured me further. There's more than enough lore nerds out there to keep everyone happy tho.

Looks like I need to get back to it before the dlc comes out as the requirement to enter the dlc is beat one of the bosses I never bother with.
Morg? Saw some people fighting it on YouTube and thought nah. Now I need to YouTube how to find him and then kill him before launch.

I am so onboard for martial arts based combat.
Will the new weapons and arts be available in the base game do we know?

Back in the Haligtree with my 125lvl chad and I'd forgotten how much things hurt. You really need to hulk smash shit before they get a chance to do any damage to you.

I'm still floating around Altus Plateau in a mid-game malaise. It seems like the last critical path bit of the game (Rennala) was a long time ago. I reckon I've spent about 80 hours on sidequests alone. Feel like I've got quite a while to go before I hit up the Royal Capital too so that's a massive gap in terms of progression... don't think I've ever experienced that in any other game.
Anyway... I think it was at the Golden Lineage evergoal where you fight Godefroy that something finally clicked... shields are a fool's errand and you're better off two handing or dual wielding. One respec later (having levelled up to use Sword of Night and find out I didn't really like it was a bitter pill) and I'm just twatting everything up with two Great Stars.
I've also gotten to the point where I'm wondering why I'm doing all the dungeons and miserable deathblighted areas for ashes of wars or summons that I'm never going to use...

rawsharkMy first playthrough was a bit like that. I think I took 160-180 hours to complete it, a bit all over the place, not sure where to go. I'm currently on about 60 hours and have done so much in that time, it's like night and day difference. There is just so much you can ride past without a care in the world. Have you been to Redmane castle recently in Caelid?

Have you been to Redmane castle recently in Caelid? Yes - actually come to think of it that was the last main-path event that I did, not Rennala. Think I forgot that as finishing that opens up that whole new area to do which I poured a whole bunch of hours into exploring. The main thing for me is that I want the first playthrough at least to be as natural as possible... so no grinding and just dealing with stuff as I come to them. That's why I accessed Altus via the ravine and not the Dectus lift, as it wouldn't have made sense for me to go rooting around a high level fort for the second half of the medallion that I'd only know was there because of a walkthrough... (To be fair though half the NPC quests need some gentle research or else I'd never finish them).

It is very obscure. On my second playthrough, there were so many areas I remembered but had no idea how I got there in the first place such is the vastness of the world.

I’m not looking forward to fighting him. Hopefully I’m over leveled but I haven’t played it for so long I’m going to be so rusty and then suddenly having to fight a hard boss.

Dropped my summon sign outside his boss room now and am helping out a few others. It's not going well...

I think Mohg was one of those bosses where being a caster on my first playthrough was a godsend. Pretty sure I beamed him to death with Comet Azur. I have my current character ready to do him with my big stick which I assume is going to be horrible in comparison.

Mohg was one of those bosses that was an absolute prick with a completely bullshit health drain mechanic (see also Malekith). If you're going to give me a billion attacks to remember and react to, don't compound it by having big chunks of my health disappear.

Said bullshit health drain mechanic was counterable by a specific Physick tear found during a seemingly unrelated sidequest, mind. Still bullshit, just smells a bit less rancid

Still bullshit, just smells a bit less rancid Yeah but it only lasts so long and the fucker still gets his health back! Prolonging the fight and ensuring that you're not going to have the use of your flask through all those attacks.
I swear ER's bosses are the reason I haven't touched it since getting the plat.

It was quite late on for me, so I don't recall spending a lot of time with it, but I did really enjoy using the Bloodboon Ritual skill from Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear.

Holding down the D-pad? Honestly never knew that…😬😂
I normally panic press through all the clutter and then scroll past what I need lol.
Then die

I tried working my way through the Haligtree but kept falling off - nope to that. So I backtracked all the way back to Caelid / Dragonbarrow and finally felt over-levelled sufficiently to not instantly die to everything. Until I tried to climb up/around the divine tower to activate a rune.... kept falling off obviously. Maybe back to the tree instead.

Can't believe they still haven't added an option to automatically answer "yes" to the prompt asking if you want to drink a (not)Estus to revive Torrent. Still as frustrating as it was when I played this at release.
Have been enjoying the Great Stars. Definitely liking it a lot more than the Greatsword. Possibly could go back and do Radahn now, although I've not really leveled up anything useful for a while, as I've been aiming for the dragon heart powers, so pumping stats into arcane and faith (did do a bit health though).
Just reached the city. Can't really remember where I'm going but do remember running through the ash-filled area many times when I previously played. Not so bad this time, but I did manage to cock up and lose 30k souls.
