The starting items are known, probably worth taking a look at. I don't want to waste 2 hours trying to create a character right at the start... I'll whittle it down to 90 minutes with advance prep.
Unless I change my mind again.

Will probably go Str/Faith as I usually do. Play to about halfway (however I judge that) and start messing with dex, full int and pyro builds

Some of the effects on the spells are fantastic. The spell that comes out of the characters eyes just looks awesome. |

Confessor does sound good. Yeah I just had a read through the classes and now I’m thinking maybe confessor too. I’ve only ever done strength or dex, definitely still want to be melee focused but a bit of supplementary healing and ranged attacks sounds fun. Especially with how good the magic effects look. Also I checked and there is a key in the starting gifts, but it’s single use. Might pick it anyway. |

Literally none of them.  It's a From game, doesn't matter which build you pick at some point they're going to fuck with you. In my case: all builds. |

Caved and watched the latest trailer. Hoping to go in as blind as possible, so haven't read or seen anything about it since the first gameplay trailer. Watched this trailer in Japanese though, so didn't really spoil to much beyond the visuals.
Looks fantastic. It does look very Dark Souls, to the point where I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out to be a stealth sequel*, but that is fine by me. I liked Sekiro, but I did miss the character and equipment builds from the more traditional SoulsBorne games.
As for which class I will start with, I haven't seen what is available, but tempted to just go for the Deprived equivalent. Perhaps a little tricky to begin with, but once you get a few stat points you have much more freedom in what direction you go in. Their starting weapon is often pretty good too. I'll likely just bung the points into health and endurance to start off with anyway, until I find a weapon I like the look of and start putting the points into the required stats. Second playthrough is normally a magic user for me.
No idea what the starting items are, but probably go for something that benefits health.
*There is a fight on top of a rooftop briefly shown that really looks reminiscent of the Gargoyles fight, which made me think it could well be a possibility.

Ass temps are cranked so high I'm in danger of setting my chair on fire.
Not really looked at the starting gifts or classes too closely just yet. As I'm rolling two classes this weekend I've got a chance to have a play around with some variety.
Whichever classes I opt for, I'll do what I always tend to when I go into a souls game for the first time: hp/end first, maybe Str & Dex to 20 if I still haven't found a weapon I'm happy with. It's all about a weapon's move set for me, so when one turns up that feels right, I'll probably spec for it (until something even better comes along!)

Just looking through those classes, a few options stand out for me. I want to be dex, but with a bit of magic (think INT rather than FTH) added in.
I really like the look of the Samurai, but possibly a little light on INT, but that can be added later. Confessor looks quite balanced but a bit FTH heavy. Warrior could also work, as could Prisoner, but I like that the samurai has a bow to start. And an Uchi, I do love an uchi.

Samurai would definitely be my choice if I wasn't going Wretch - might still be if I panic last minute.
Uchi, longbow, shield... shouldn't be too hard to add some intelligence. Great looking armour.
