I've found myself listening to The Fall of Empires podcast recently.
The first few episodes lure you in, with relatively short hour long episodes about the fall of the Roman Empire in Britain, or the fall of the Greenland Vikings, then before you know it your listening to a 4 hour episode about the Egyptian Empire.

I have three races tomorrow and five on Sunday. Plus 2.5 hours travel in the morning tomorrow getting up at half four. I'm going to be a tired wunty on Monday. Regardless of how I do, I hope the boy enjoyes his races. He's had a patchy year with it due to illness so I'm hoping this puts him in good stead. What is nice is that he's been signed on to a development project with Scottish Rowing which has just begun so over the next few years he's going to pretty much be moulded into a proper rowing athlete. Haud on, I have just twigged, are you at the north east regatta wunty? If i hadn't been stuck at a fitba match watching my lad, I could have come down and booed any inverness veterans teams. Or at least hung a bedsheet over the side of a bridge with 'watch out for yer bins' spray painted on it. 🤣 Ha, yeah. Regatta yesterday, Sprints today. Only now checking my phone or I could have said before now! Bloody knackered. On way home then still to unload boats. I’ll sleep well later. Worth it though. Three medals isn’t bad… feels a bit unreal. |

Thanks chaps!. Finally home now. Great weekend. Between the racing, driving 2.5hours each way, boat loading, rigging, derigging, carrying to and from the water for us and the kids… shattered. But worth it. Definitely worth it.
