IN non-music ticket and more personal news, I have rowing races this weekend. As does my boy. I am shitting myself, he is not. What is nice though is they have a generational double race so we have entered that. I just hope I don't fuck it up for him (although this one is just a bit of fun). I'm also racing in a single for the first time ever, which has been going well in practice, and also very much NOT well in practice. So fuck knows. I'm also racing the pair in an open category, so expect to get absolutely annihilated in that one. I have three races tomorrow and five on Sunday. Plus 2.5 hours travel in the morning tomorrow getting up at half four. I'm going to be a tired wunty on Monday. Regardless of how I do, I hope the boy enjoyes his races. He's had a patchy year with it due to illness so I'm hoping this puts him in good stead. What is nice is that he's been signed on to a development project with Scottish Rowing which has just begun so over the next few years he's going to pretty much be moulded into a proper rowing athlete. Dude you're already winning by getting out there and doing it! I bet your son will love the memories of shared time with you, where you finish doesn't matter  I'm quite high, so just wanted to add. You probably finished first when it mattered most, and because of that he owes you everything 😉 |
