He lost me when he had his headphones over his hoodie. Only a mentalist would do that.

I was flicking about and realised we are probably the same distance away from when Heartbeat started as it was from the 60s when it was on.
Sleep well.

I refuse to accept that the man who invented Terryology is anything less than a very stable genius.
EDIT: That's Terrence Howard, by the way. Not Nick Berry - he's the inventor of Nickology. Obviously.

Anyway why haven't we got Muppet games like the movies yet. I'd buy A Muppets' Minecraft/Last of Us/Gears of War

I was flicking about and realised we are probably the same distance away from when Heartbeat started as it was from the 60s when it was on. Sleep well. I have similar thoughts all the time, particularly in relation to music. My inability to move away from 80s and 90s music, and the sneering I get from the eldest, would have been like my parents only listening to music from the 50s and 60s when I was growing up. Some of which was true tbf, but not to the same extent I don't think.

You mean your parents were cooler than you?
I have the same thing though.
My 13 year old watching The Matrix today is the same as 13 year old me watching Goldfinger or Mary Poppins. Which I guess I did do.
Them watching Mary Poppins is the same as me watching Steamboat Willie!

Well, my old dear used to listen to the Rat Pack, Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand so YMMV.

Streaming and evolution of music has made it a bit different. In the 50s and 60s the technologies and cross pollination and discovery of sounds was happening. That has slowed by the 90s, still some new things but things haven’t moved on the same way since.
Some of the love of current music is always because it’s current and youngsters listening to people who are more in their 60s or older can be odd for them, just like us listening to a 20 year old singing about how hard life is can be a bit off putting these days.

Also since the mid-late 90’s when pro tools started to be regularly used, production qualities improved greatly and we now have near 30 year old albums that still sound great today and the production no longer ‘dates’ a song.

Ah Heartbeat. That and Where The Heart Is was proper Sunday evening telly, when it was a clear closure of the weekend.. and dreading school.

Me and the wife had on a 90s dance playlist on amazon the other day. Full of the classics you might expect. Those songs are 30 odd years old. When I was in high school and discovered Black Sabbath and Tangerine Dream amongst others (then into punk of the later 70s), it all felt so old. Like I was really delving back in time. I could relate but yet really couldn't. A completely different era. Yet that stuff was only 20 odd years older. Now I can throw on What is Love or Mr Vain and it's 30 fucking years old. What the hell man.
