An actual musing I had this morning - you know those people at the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine who said it was all fake footage and tried to prove it with Google Street View and the like? - Do they still think it's fake now? And if not, how do they reconcile their earlier thoughts? Will they learn from it?

I'd say some of them are probably still doubling down on it as we speak.

I only ask because my first intuition is to assume they were probably Russian agitators trying to sow confusion.

People actually thought the war was faked? I'm glad I don't use twitter or anything where some of the crazier shit comes through.
My ignorance is bliss approach to the news/politics/media is a better choice each time I see some weird take like that.

Same, most of my interaction with twitter comes from links to it here and almost every time it's god awful.
It's designed to sow disinformation faster than real news.

Oh, I get the Russians thinking it wasn't real. I thought Lukus meant people outside of Russia.

Most western people pivoted from "of course they're not going to invade" to "well it's all NATO/the west's fault for causing it" ime. Did see any verifiable humans who weren't russians deny it after it started.

There are plenty of non-Russian people who denied it - replies to Russian Embassy UK tweets were filled with nutters.
They seem to have pivoted now that Russia is admitting it but had accounts from the UK talking of crisis actors + Zelensky doing his talks from Hollywood using green screen.

Not all Twitter users are real... There as actually a Zelensky deepfake telling Ukrainians to surrender!!! Maybe that was the real one all the rest are fake.

Well, quite - the internet (and social media) is the hive of the dishonest but there are some real users on there

I'm sure it's different in Europe because you guys usually get multilanguage releases, but I wish these games by European developers set in their respective countries would include the native audio track in the American release. Thinking of Steelrising by Spiders and Kingdom Come Deliverance by Warhorse. That small touch just adds the extra bit of immersion.

I had a dream last night that I went to a Celine Dion concert solo. I was then intimidated by some youths and decided not to attend the concert.
I went to get a bus home but then realised I didn't have my wallet to pay for it, so was stuck.
But my wife and father in law appeared and saved my bacon. Dream over.
I don't like Celine Dion.

Yes indeed. I don't go to concerts much*, and if I did I wouldn't waste one on Celine Dion.
*The last concert I attended was the Pussycat Dolls. Would rather them over Celine to be honest.

The correct response here would be “Did you get any blood in it?” however I’m not sure that phrase in too common other than in north west England

Tbf Celine Dion attracts a *VIOLENT* fucking crowd. I've seen Gwar fans back away from a Dion pit.

Random thought - has anyone ran a traditional 2D animation through DLSS (if possible - I've not done any research)?
It'd be interesting to see something older, that typically ran at 24 FPS with doubled frames (so 12 FPS) with an actual 24 frames.
Sidenote: I don't think I ever saw the 48 FPS Hobbits' or Gemini Man but it seemed at the time folks didn't like the higher FPS. Anyone here see those versions?
Nevermind, I'm being a dumbass. The extra FPS is from the freed resources from a lower base res innit, not some sort of interpolation process to create extra frames. I'll stand in the corner for a bit.

Presumably the effect you're after would be achieved through motion smoothing which is pretty standard on TVs now. It's usually the setting that's annoyingly standard when you first set up a new TV and I have to find a way to turn it off right away, as it makes everything look like an American soap opera.
But yeah, that'd be my guess to try if you're curious.
