There's dozens of different iterations of chili here. That's one of them though.

Unbelievable Geoff. Does it remain firm in the hands after the first bite?

Oh, there are beans in it. You're just playing dangerously with the hearts and minds of the chili kings there. Is chilli in America done with Brisket, Dark chocolate and coffee? Or just in certain states? I saw something how UK chilli is so far removed from what it originally was. That's the Meh-he-koh way I believe. Most chilli that made its way over here was tex mex stuff that was sort of like the 90s curry wars, where the idea was to see who could handle a phaal on the night, with no attention paid to what happened the morning after. This is why we have things like the Carolina Reaper.

When I was trying to get my end away as a teen, I went around the girl in questions house to meet the parents and have a meal etc.
The chilli was cubed overcooked steak, ketchup, sweetcorn and baked beans. It wasn't worth suffering through that meal.

I don't get the super hot chili stuff. I like a bit of heat, but only when it augments the flavour. If all you have is a mouthful of mace then what's the point

It wasn't worth suffering through that meal. Sounds a lot like my mum's "curry", featuring bisto, sultanas, apple, peas and horrifically overcooked rice*. The 80s were a hell of a ride *about half a teaspoon of curry powder, no other spicing whatsoever and ketchup was strictly forbidden for certain meals, including this.

I dunno, I like stuff really hot on occasion. Not hot enough to destroy all the other flavours but I do enjoy getting my mouth fucked up sometimes.

You don't fry off the meat first? Also, why do you have my Nan's crockery 1) No, otherwise the meat would be impossible to form into a sausage and would dry out when you're baking. 2) The wife's nan died and gave it to us I do a decent chilli and Im quite good at sausage rolls (I do a mean pork and apple) which is why I didn't look up a recipe and, obviously, assumed I had invented it. But there is nothing new under the sun so we may as well all kill ourselves.

There's limits though, and it's *really* hard to judge them unless you're a scoville nerd AND they happen to mention that on the menu. I had wings that made a vietnamese guy cry (i did not eat said wings after seeing this)
Slight aside: I only recently found out that not everyone gets a runny nose when they eat spicy. I do. That's really annoying, ESPECIALLY on top of the genetic predisposition to hating coriander. 50% of hot food tastes like soap, 100% of it makes my nose run after 15 seconds.

I think you can still claim it as a unique NickGary invention, I was just being a pedantic dick.

Funnily enough, to give the whole story, this is the result of me getting mugged off last time. I did a barbecoa style chili with brisket which everyone said tasted the best but marked down heavily because it's 'not authentic chili'. The basic wankers just want Bolognese with kidney beans in it.
So this is partially a joke at how plebian my friends are, giving them Gregg's like the scum they are.

He invented it for me. I'll go to bed tonight happier than I started the day knowing this exists.
Do make sure you definitely get some fucking sour cream or something out next time though nick, for god's sake. I love a bit of red sauce but I'm getting mild anxiety about it.

This was the last entry ibb.co/zF5tyL7ibb.co/sPr8DyVibb.co/hFCtx67I slow cooked the brisket in the sauce for six hours, took it out, shredded it and cooked it in the sauce for another hour then left it overnight to absorb more moisture. And the cheeky cunts marked it down for not being mince.

I knew someone with a legit phobia of red sauce I knew someone with a phobia of any food that wasnt beige or brown, although sauces were ok. He brought oven chips and fish fingers to the office in tupperware to be microwaved, daily. This was 15ish years ago and I believe he's still amongst the living. Weirdly, he also rode a unicycle to work. Genuinely.

Jesus Christ, nowt wrong with that at all. The sausage roll is definitely the perfect level of petty riposte this year. Serve them in paper bags, I dare you.
