I'm very much enjoying For All Mankind. It's basically a more woke The Right Stuff, if the space race never ended.

I watched Foundation and I don't get why it has mediocre reviews. It's great hard sci-fi. I really enjoyed it, and my only real gripe is that I fear that they could be stretching the source material over too many seasons.

Yeah, it's great. If you like 70s style paranoia flicks, it cribs a lot from those. The music is near enough straight up ripped off from David Shire's score for The Conversation, for example.
It's very stylish and well directed by Ben Stiller. It's sort of like a much better Beyond The Black Rainbow. I don't quite know how to describe the genre of paranoid/corporate sci-fi with a mix of anachronistic modern and 70s trappings, by way of David Cronenberg. Possessor does much the same thing.

I see Pachinko appears to be getting the reviews I thought and hoped it would.
Apple are on a great run at the moment if you ask me!

Apple are on a great run at the moment if you ask me! Indeed they are. We have an Apple Music family subscription, and also need 200GB of iCloud space, and with Apple One we get TV+ for more than half off, which makes staying subscribed a no-brainer, even if we don't watch a lot. EDIT: LOL I just saw that Apple Arcade is also included, which makes Apple One even better.

Watched the first couple of episodes of WeCrashed. Jared Leto is doing another accent ™ and it is much as you would expect, Social Networky but via the WeWork thing.
It's quite decent.

All of severance so far is good.
Slow Horses Episode 1. Seems good, I was worried it might feel like an itv drama but it’s much better than that so far.

At the moment it’s still cheaper for me to get the annual music sub then get the tv and data separately.

I don't think it's that different. Here are some things that came before it that are very much like it. Brazil (1985) Suture (1995) Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) Possessor (2020) The anachronistic retro technology fetish is very much taken from Terry Gilliam.

Was thinking more of the whole "severance" concept. Haven't seen any of those films to be fair.

I came up with that idea years ago, Ben Stiller stole it from me. I have complained at length to my missus.

The first two episodes of Slow Horses were very good.
I haven't read the Mick Herron novels it's based on, but I will be seeking them out. They've been adapted for TV by Will Smith of The Thick Of It and Veep writing glory, so I wasn't surprised to see him bring in an alumnus actor like Paul Higgins, who so far has been relegated to a nicely spoken background character that the others seem to regard as insufferably cloying, but given that all these people are in Slough House for some career-torpedoing sin, I fully expect them to reveal that there is an anger management issue behind that facade of niceness, and when it drops he will go the full Jamie.
As far as the overarching plot goes, they are on the trail of some particularly nasty white-nationalist-english-types who kidnap a Brummie asian student, and I enjoy anything that (hopefully) depicts those types of racist cunts getting their heads kicked in.
EDIT:
That puts Marvels' recent battery of cock-ups about London geography in Moon Knight to shame.

Yeah that's a good analysis of it. It's not something we've never seen before, but it's much better version of that sort of general thing. It just does so many things right, or elegantly. Like I really appreciated Helly calling out the "code detector" as "sounding like bullshit", because, yeah, it probably is, it's probably a trick of some kind because to do that technologically would require Star Trek: TNG levels of technology - but the other characters believe in it, and that impacts her in a plausible way. Most shows do characters like her pretty poorly, either having them as lunatics or pretty wimpy/lazy, and she's much more relatable and genuinely angry. I always feel like there's a bit of Harold Pinter in the dialogue and situations when this sort of thing is done well too (particularly The Birthday Party), and definitely here. It's also quietly very funny, like the stuff with "The You You Are", which is utter drivel/tripe but they don't have any other reading material but The Handbook, so obviously it's blowing their minds. Everyone is great in it too - I'm shocked by how fucked-up and haunted Adam Scott looks. I've not finished the season yet but I'm expecting it to hold up.

Scott looks bloated and unhealthy. Wonder if he did that for the role or if he just looks like that nowadays.
Didn't click the spoiler as I'm only 3 episodes in and I don't know where the spoiler occurs.
Also, it just got renewed for a second season.

Ahh, I'm not sure I'm interested in them dragging it out for another season. If anything suits a one-and-done it's this.

Severance was the best thing I've seen on TV this year, the way the first season ends leaves things in a really interesting place.
Doubt it'll go more than another season though.

Only 3 episodes in of Slow Horses and it's already done enough world building that I would eagerly watch a prequel series.
