Prog 2256 (out today) is another standalone "regened" issue aimed at younger readers. My sub copy was delayed for some reason and only turned up this morning so I've not read it yet. Had a quick flick through and some lovely art within. I hope the people that subscribled off the back of this thread are enjoying their issues

Different armor aside, they all look like Stallone.

Received a couple of GNs for Xmas. Megatropolis book 1 is an excellent "what if" alternate universe Judge Dredd with absolutely stunning art by Dave Taylor. Just finished it and it works much better as a collected edition then it did as a monthly serial in the Meg. Recommended. Brink book 4 is the latest in the acclaimed series by Dan Abnett and INJ Culbard. Not just great comics, it's one of the greatest series there has ever been in the prog IMO. Easily up there with the Halo Joneses and Nemesis the Warlocks and other legendary strips from 2000AD's 45 year history. Might use this as an excuse to read books 1-3 again.

My younger brother used to get 2000AD back in the 80s, whilst I had something a little more cerebral (The Beano).
I’ve always wanted to get back into it. Must investigate…

Rebellion have brought Garth Ennis in for a comic book sequel to the movie Hawk The Slayer.
All the comments beneath the announcement are Bill Bailey gifs and Spaced quotes of course.

Yeah I got the first issue with this month's Megazine, I liked it a lot. Henry Flint's art is just fantastic

Is Dan Abnett one of those pen names that's actually lots of different people, because he seems to output an insane amount of content?!
PS/ Those covers all look awesome. Makes me want to subscribe. Must remember that comic book covers mean nothing! PPS/ The idea of a kids version of 200Ad is a bit weird. What does the all-ages Dredd do to perps?

I've been really tempted by the McMahon one, but so expensive

I've been really tempted by the McMahon one, but so expensive Yeah, £80/£150 is a LOT of money but the pages are amazing. Like looking at the Bristol-board based original artworks, warts and all. Book is close to A2 in size. Loads of pages would make fantastic wall art too. I was hanging on with the McMahon decision until I laid eyes on the Bolland book. 10 mins later, McMahon edition was purchased too. I've suggested my wife buy it as an Xmas pressie as it isn't due until October and this Bolland book got delayed a fair bit too.

Gnnnhhhh... they're supposed to be doing a second McMahon one with his Slaine stuff in it, too. The first one is all Dredd. They put out an appeal the other day for anyone who owns original McMahon Slaine pages to come forward so they can be scanned.
Imagine owning an original page from Sky Chariots.

Hot take: I always hated Mike McMahon's art and 14-year-old me would always stick my tongue out if he'd done Dredd that issue.
Bleucch.

Ooh, that's a spicy one! xD I love all his old stuff, but his later stuff (like when he did the Dredd story "Howler") is nowhere near as good But this is probably my favourite 2000AD cover of them all

I think McMahon grew on me over time. I always liked Ron Smith's strips for the Daily Star too - so Bolland's cleaner line was my fave Dredd.
Love Jocks stuff for Dredd along with Steve Dillon and recently Tom Foster.
Ezquerra was an odd one. Obviously designed the original look but was a no show for whilst shit was going down inside 2000ad. Love it now, though moreso for Strontium Dog than Dredd.
If I could work out best way to post images here I'd add a couple.

Ron Smith is probably my all time favourite Dredd artist, no-one else could draw the crazy citizens of MC1 quite like him. Steve Dillon was also a favourite. I also remember Barry Kitson from the late 80s doing some fantastic stuff.
From the current line up probably Jake Lynch or Dave Taylor

Yeah the Wagner/Grant partnership as TB Grover pretty much defined Dredd during the golden age. His run on Batman for DC was great as well
