I've been going to a normal gym again for the first time in years since my kickboxing coach was consumed by the rabbit hole. What the hell is going on with girls gym pants these days? Good lord.

I'm just interested in the pants from a design and functionality perspective.

not sure I understand, perhaps share the pictures you’ve discreetly taken?

I've left now. Only been going a few weeks so it's a bit early to start with the hidden cameras yet.

Shorts so tight they’ll think you’re in one of those vacuum bondage beds

I've ordered some 80's style tiny umbro shorts to begin the mating ritual.

Hell yeah.
I go to my gym early morning, too early for hot yoga pants action unfortunately. And the last thing I want to see is any ex-prime-ministeral anus wrinkles

6"2 and as of just now, 14st 13lb. Could defo do with losing a stone. Purely belly, mostly beer. I don't do breakfast, and eat a decent salad of some description for lunch 5 afternoons a week, it's the booze and weekend pizza that do me - even then though, I'll probably go most of the day without eating so that should balance things somewhat?
I've started on the group thing at work, which culminated the week before last in 100k on bike, 30k on foot. Got side-tracked last week between hospital appointment and wedding arrangements (and a COVID scare), but started back on it slowly this week. Only managed 12k at dinner, but it was in truly horrible weather heading directly into the wind on the way back so happy enough.
Basically, if I cut out the drink I'd probably drop weight pretty quickly. I haven't, so I don't.

Let things get a bit out of control on some holidays recently which has meant I've had to go on a hard cut ready for an race this weekend. I don't recommend it.

Dude, if you can't relax the reins of self-control on holiday after the shite of the last two years, then when can you?
Good luck with the event!

I think the problem with largely being healthy is that when you're not, your body overreacts somewhat. People I usually travel with often lose weight due to the increased exercise! (Still a heavy decrease for me, unless I stay somewhere with a gym / cycle)

Put on about 4kg since I got COVID. Didn't really think it was advisable to starve myself whilst trying to recover.
Wish it was easier to get more nutritious food via takeaway etc though (at least where I am). Managed one Japanese meal but it was comically expensive.

I’ve started a building phase - focusing on eating more. I want to get my daily calories up between 3500 and 4000 before I start trying to drop fat again, which I’m looking to start around April I think. Winter isn’t the time for restricting delicious foods.

I was thinking of posting in the self improvement thread but since this has popped up, I started bodyweight training at home after I had my heart attack last year. About 25 weeks later I haven't lost any weight but my gut has got a lot smaller, the odd muscle strain I get goes away a lot quicker and I can do a lot of stuff I couldn't do when I started. Nice to have finally found a program I've clicked with, mainly because it gives you a lot of rest between each exercise.

Averaging just over 2000 steps per day since early September while my foot heels is really starting to be a drag. The last of my local legends on strava finally fell last night too.
Comfort eating probably hasn’t help.

Everytime I do a strength training programme it starts off ok but towards the end I am somehow unable to keep up! I've resorted to going all the way back to a strength training for beginners programme, which I'm just about maintaining with.

I'm probably nuts for even trying this but next month I'm giving up booze, meat, and caffeine. Also stopping smoking the occasional cigarette (will still vape though, cutting out nicotine as well would be seriously pushing it).
edit - I forgot. Also no bread, potatoes or rice. No shit carbs basically.

I've resorted to going all the way back to a strength training for beginners programme, which I'm just about maintaining with. I'm using Mark Lauren's You Are Your Own Gym. I got the book and app rather than the monthly subscription thing he does now. The beginner programme was enough for me when I started and I had to modify some of the exercises when I moved on to the intermediate one. He does encourage you to do that though and there are lots of suggestions for making individual exercises easier or harder in the book and the app. I'm now doing my third 10 week programme based on the intermediate level but with some modifications of my own.
