I’ve always preferred Scotch “Magic” tape to Sellotape, as a ) it’s virtually invisible and b ) you can write on it.
However, this year it’s been made crystal clear to me that we won’t be buying any more of it.
Something silly about it breaking and not being able to find the end; I dunno.

I learnt years ago the key to easier wrapping (and sometimes happier kids too) is to buy a proper tape dispenser off eBay and sellotape (those packs of 5 for £1) from the pound shop, so much easier than faffing about with a silly little roll.

Thing is, we use a proper dispenser, but Mrs. EMM still manages to bugger it up somehow! |

Look we're clearly both in different ecosystems. I'm locked in to the hand held sellotape ecosystem and am currently fucked. If I even wanted to switch over I would need it by one hours time as that's the only window I have to do this wrapping. But I don't want to, I'm happy having the tape on my hand so I can hold the tricky bits of folded over wrapping paper with both hands to ensure nothing slips. I'm going to hunt around the house for half used rolls right now good day to you sir.

Tin foil (Christmas themed if you're lucky) and just scrunch it around - no tape needed and it looks shiny.

Did a reverse advent calendar thing for a foodbank (basically put some food in a box every day during December).
Sent it 20th... still not arrived. You'll be unsurprised to know that it was Yodel handling it all.
Merry Christmas to whoever gets the selection box / Christmas pudding / biscuits some time in fucking February.

I put in a complaint about yodel myself two days ago. Parcel was just dumped by our door and was split open and things inside were damaged. No note or knock or anything. Couple of days before that they'd dumped a parcel in the rain with no note or knocking. Thankfully I saw it. They really don't seem to give a shit.

Since lockdown we know one of our DPD deliverers quite well. We have even gifted him a box of chocolates when he had to haul 20 boxes of firewood...
Nice personal touch / engagement meaning he hopefully won't want to screw us over...!
