Damn. For me I was able to fix a similar issue by systematically going through and clicking the three dots next to videos which looked right-wing/MRA/etc.-ish and clicking "Not interested" and selecting "Tell us why" and then selecting "I didn't like this". Pressing "Dislike" seemed to do absolutely nothing, as you say. Add in some "Don't recommend channel" clicks on ones which are appearing repeatedly, and that plus the algorithm change last year and I haven't seen right-wing nutcase video for months and months.

My feed used to be full of them, seemingly because I liked Mass Effect stuff, a couple of times watched a mild critique of ME's story structure (which I didn't really agree with, but was reasonable and apolitical), and suddenly BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM 1/3-1/4 of the videos listed for me are an assortment of MRA/misogynist/alt-right losers, many of them whinging about Mass Effect but also a lot of them just being fucking baby losers who need a good thumping generally whinging about "women". Nothing I could so seemed terribly effective at getting rid of them.

Then YouTube quite publicly changed the algorithm last year, and they suddenly became pretty rare. I did what I explained above and they went to almost none, then there was like one last one, I got that, and I haven't seen them since. But yeah I'd been slapping actual thumbs-down dislikes on stuff for ages with no impact. It seems like they get also no weighting. But "Not interested" and "I didn't like this" clearly does some have some weighting.

Also, given this is a rant thread, what is with so many alt-right video people being such 5'5" weeds? Nothing wrong with being a 5'5" weed, but if you're going to make high-pitched videos shrieking about manhood and masculinity and so on, maybe don't be the sort of guy I could push over with one finger? Or, looking at you Jordan Peterson, maybe don't be a sadcase hardcore drug addict who couldn't even "man" his way through detox, so was put in an induced coma for it, whilst trying to tell people how to live their lives? It's like they're all joke characters from some '90s comic (Preacher or Transmet or something), they're that cliched.

Went for a 1 week fast track passport application, which involved paying more *and* a trip to of London Victoria to visit the passport office. I'm not even going anywhere, but I need some photo ID for some pre-employment vetting I'll need to go through.

1 week later still no updates and certainly no passport. The customer service in the office was shit too, an absolute grumpy arsehole of a woman.

Because it's a total monopoly they can act like utter cunts and give shite service but there's nothing anyone can do, really. So fuck the passport office, incompetent and unhelpful dicks all the way down as far as I can see.

Thought I'd give the customer service helpdesk a ring to enquire, apparently the advisor couldn't see me on the system. It's not exactly filling me with confidence.

It's time Amazon stopped blaming Covid for not delivering properly. Our deliveries are either put through the letterbox if small enough or a swift knock on the door and it left outside and the courier running back to his van before you can even open the door.

Yodel are worse. I was waiting on something the other day and my delivery got updated to "We've left your parcel in a safe place and popped a note through your door".

Returned home to find no note, and no parcel anywhere. I also never have, to my knowledge, designated a "safe place" to any fucking courier company. If I'm not in, take the fucking parcel away, leave a note and I'll collect it from you you bunch of fannies.

Turns out the safe place was my neighbours back doo. Nowhere near mine and someone I don't even speak to if I can help it. She was also away for the weekend, so I didn't get it for four days when she brought it round, puzzled as to why she had it left at hers.

This is the same courier company who previously decided my safe place was a different neighbours recycle bin, putting it in there the afternoon before collection day, and I only got it becuase my neighbour decided to dump one more bag of plastic in before it was picked up.

Fridge Freezer just died, Christmas shop turning up tomorrow... just, fuck off.
