The gun thing is a bit annoying. You can only keep three on you at once and have to dump one but it gets to a point when they start resetting with you.
So if you lob a good weapon, you are without it for the rest of the day but it comes back the next morning.

If you infuse it first.
Basically, once you can, infuse the shit out of everything!
Priiritise the ones you like best to start, then replay to pick ones you missed hoping for similar buffs.
Killing juliana will also get you some good shit early on.

I did a little bit more this morning, Julianna invaded by I managed to survive and escape through the tunnel. I shot her and she disappeared but not sure if I actually “killed” her or not
Unfortunately when I did the next area, after sneaking through and picking off every enemy it glitched and stuck me in the pause menu with no way to exit so I’ll have to do that again
I know now that I need to find some lab in order to get the ability to infuse

The problem I found was that there are three guns that are pretty godlike and everything else was either trash or just a novelty so I stopped picking dropped weapons up pretty quickly because I didn’t want to be without one of the big three for the rest of the day.
The silenced SMG with the long range trinkets is basically a silenced sniper rifle and carried me through the entire game, the shotgun with rapid fire and extra ammo is the best ‘get off me’ weapon and the laser is a medium range instakill. Comparatively, everything else is garbage.

Same with personal mods, really. Double jump, fast sneak, fast hack and hard skin for 99% of the game. Everything else seemed either worse or pointless.

Hard skin or whatever made mobs really difficult for me. Cos i was pretty poor at stealthy shit from time to time.
I avoided that to make mobs easier.
I needed to get more gud.

My game plan was always to headshot as many people as I could with the silenced SMG before inevitably triggering an alarm and slaughtering everyone else with the shotgun.

Made a bit of progress but I’m only dipping in and out. However I don’t think I’ve ever played such a bug ridden game in my life. Picking through a whole level, nailgunning every single enemy, killing the Visionary, only to find you can’t pick up the slab for some reason was annoying
The menus crashing completely and losing 30k residuum also annoying. Putting the “immune to poison gas” trinket on and then dying due to poison gas also annoying
Menus removing all the button contextual prompts at random and having to remember which is sacrifice and which is infuse also annoying, thankfully I’ve been getting it right
At times it feels like I put it on for an hour and just fight Julianna for a full hour, I must have killed her 30 times now and I’ve still made quite glacial progress
It’s one of those games that you want to love but the execution of the ideas just isn’t good enough

What are you playing it on, retro? I've put a decent amount of time in on Series X and haven't had a single bug
I think the game is great. For now it's just a sandbox while I'm exploring all the areas and passively gathering up information and getting weapons/trinkets, without worrying too much about the bigger picture
The only issue I have is that the AI is too stupid to put up any kind of challenge. I've died probably twice and that was to a mine and turret because I got sloppy due to the lack of challenge. You can easily just clear out an area by funnelling the enemies into a doorway and/or hacking turrets. I usually play Dishonoured full stealth/no kills but not seeing the need for stealth in this really and since everyone comes back again on the next loop, I've got no moral issues with killing everyone
It's still fun to play around with the weapons/powers though and looking forward to putting it all together. Something it has over Dishonored is that rather than thinking about how I'll do something differently on another playthrough, I can just do it on the next loop
Sound design is also excellent. Everything makes some kind of ambient sound so you always know when you're near a health station, turret, camera, mine, etc. It's really well done
Love Colt and Julianna. I've only faught (and beat) her three times. She's just a free slab to me. Playing offline

Yeah, something odd about your install, retro74. I just played through on PC and no issues, though I agree there is something odd about that gas rune. I noticed myself taking damage from it at times too.
I dunno, repair game or something if you have that option?

Playing on PS5. Not sure why it’s so problematic as I’ve never had a single bug or crash on a PS5 game before now. A lot of times in the load out / level select type screen my controller buttons just disable randomly with no response from them other than pressing the PS button, which allows me to reset the console and then everything works again
Despite the problems it is a lot of fun to play and becomes very addictive. I went to Fristad Rock for the first time yesterday and was like “Uh? There’s nothing and no one here” then pressed some weird uplink machine and all hell broke lose with scores of enemies coming from every direction, it was awesome
I do agree about the AI, they are cannon fodder to a certain extent but you can end up fighting 20 of them at the same time so they need to be

Grrr
Last time I played it I exited the door, BAM! as always invaded by Julianna immediately without taking a step forward. Managed to kill her and got 2 slab upgrades plus a decent bit of Residuum and some trinkets SWEET
Played through the level very carefully collecting everything, I must have had about 50 trinkets, 40k Residuum and the two slab upgrades. Still had both my reprises so figured I could explore. Didn’t think there was much risk, entered a new area, crouched and invisible and somehow one of those orange pricks, with his back to me, “saw” me and an alarm went off and the whole island blew up, killing me instantly
And that’s one of the main problems with the game, a lot of your time is completely wasted, that’s like an hour and half there that was completely pointless and I’ve got zero progress out of it
I’m definitely playing it wrong. I think it might be better just to run about like a crazy rather than sneak through levels. At least that way you can find out about stuff like this without losing everything

That place has a schematic to cut wires to stop everything going boom. If you can get there before you aggro them all.
In the early days, it may also be better to play conservative and nope out with slabs loot to infuse them before going back.
Needless to say, we've all been burnt by sticking around too long and losing it all!

monkman5000 it was on Fristad Rock I agree it’s decent. Brilliantly inventive but quite flawed at the same time

That level/scenario is one of the harder ones. Insta-fails suck and I suspect most people were blown up the first time and Fia is pretty much the hardest boss.

Yeah it was my fault, I should have just retreated with my goodies. Would have been better game design if it had a timer and I could have legged it to the exit and moved the day on before everything blew up

There's just something 'off' about Arkane games and I can't put my finger on it.
I've completed Dishonored 2, Prey and close to finishing this.
I should absolutely adore them but for some reason they always end up feeling like a bit of a chore, even though I end up seeing them through to the end.

Fia the hardest boss? Apart from her reactor gambit (which is only a threat until you get the schematic) she was quite easy to deal with I thought. Pro tip: The nullify field goes through walls. Set one up in the hallway outside her room and shoot her head off. or in my case place turrets and just open the door. Garbage guy was the hardest for me...

Garbage guy was the hardest for me... Dude- open his door, set off door bomb/trap, then wait for him to go looking. You can go invisible, but the chump doesn't even check to the left as he comes out of his room. Then choke out. await stupid paintbomb goons, collect loot. Win. Any other way is much tougher.

I also found Fia tougher than others. Probably cause i was shit at stealth in that area. Not that you have to worry about that later.

Garbage guy went down with a full clip from charlies shotgun but Fia was just a bullet sponge.
But, yeah, it was partly my fault because I never used the field nullifier incase it nullified me.

That comment above that described the game as a “chore” is bang on the money. The developers are way off in terms of the pacing with certain tasks
I had a “quick” go after work and found a gun in one of those sealed tubes I figured would be an easy collect. Cue two hours of the most mind bendingly dull quest where you’ve got no option but to keep going until the end. Absolutely awful game design by people that are probably nice artsy, fartsy types but don’t understand how the very best games work. Is there no map in this? That would have helped a bit I suppose
I’ll probably never use that gun but after two hours of tedium I really should give it a go

I fought that garbage guy the other day but he was a bullet sponge for me so the game may have a dynamic adjustment element. I shot him about twenty times easily so he’s harder than Julianna, who only takes about 4 shots each time. Ended up sneaking up and machete-ing the MFer
