Today I learned that "Hi, I need to pick up a scratching post for my other half" is not the same as saying "Hi, my other half ordered a scratching post for our cat and sent me to collect it"
For the record my other half does not posess talons so ferocious she goes through scratching posts on the regular
If it makes you feel any better, I only recently worked out - after 5 years of buying the buggers - that they've got a hole in the top as well so that you can turn them over.

Which one are you referring to, the cat or the other half?

Our cats never looked at the posts standing upright, but on the side... that's a whole other game.
They love them- your furniture will thank you for the new knowledge!

Remember the Many Pets renewals thing?
Just had ours...
£196 a month.
"Lol, fuck off," he said to them.
Spoke to our vets and got a £7.5k per year lifetime policy for £45, with a £250 excess - basically, £500 more cover than the existing one for 20% of the price.
Preposterous.

We actually stayed with ManyPets when they put it up to around £140 as we claimed around £700 of Hydrotherapy for the year (and will be doing the same again this year), giving a rough monthly cost of £80-£90 and it keeps him covered for everything. If they ramp it up again next year it'll be a different story. Good tip going direct to the vet - never considered that. Is yours part of a chain?

A more random one - can anyone recommend a decent tent for two people and a large dog?
Thinking of going camping but have no idea about this sort of stuff.

I think you're looking at a 6 person tent tbh. A 2 person tent is never really big enough for 2. So a 4 person tent to be comfortable, and extra for the hound.

I don't mind paying a bit of money for emergency cover, like, but 2400 a year (and let's face it, they'll keep on doing it) is silly. More than my car, house and motorcycle insurance added together. Then doubled. I looked on the comparison sites too and they're way cheaper. Even if I pay his meds myself and just have emergency cover, it's less than half as much.

Ha that’s amazing. I need to get back on the photos. Little Penny has just gone into heat again so she’s a menace right now.

Pets are a pain in the arse, aren't they? Dog woke me up to go out at 6am. Got back to sleep then he woke me up at 7am barking at the cat who wanted to come in through the front door, instead of the perfectly good cat flap which is behind a closed door and nowhere near the dog. Gits.

We're looking after my GF's boss' dog at the moment and he's a fucker for barking at the cats in the middle of the night. He insists on sleeping on the landing and blocking their path to/from the bedroom, then takes offense to them climbing over him. Dickhead.
They mostly get on OK, he's just clear he doesn't want them in his personal space.

The dog insists on chasing the cats and the cats refuse to come in the house if he's not well out of the way still. Its been 10 months now.

We actually have to have a horizontal one and a vertical one as one cat insists on one, and one insists on the other. It’s quite annoying as they’re both big cats so need long posts as well.

Gits. I feel your pain today. My missus is the usual 'chosen one' for this cat, but she's off on the ran-dan with some friends this weekend. So our mog was bugging me to go out all night. Unfortunately, we don't have your heatwave, and it's pissing down outside, so it wouldn't go out. But did wake me repeatedly for an hour or so until she realised the weather wasn't going to be different at the other door. 😭 Thankfully, this coincided with me having to read the riot act to our boy who had a phone buzzing regularly on his desk at 6am. After already keeping me awake with his shouting & swearing at fifa until 2am plus. Have kids (&pets) they said, it'll be fun, they said.,. 🤣

pretty sure your dog also has a vw badge chain and never stopped wearing bootcut jeans. I wish I was as cool in the 90s as your dog

Haven't posted one of Penny for a while. Got out of the way of taking pics. The wife sent me this one the other day as apparantly she was waiting at the top of the stairs for me to come home for over an hour. In that time she took out all the stuffing out of that toy that she is currently holding and scattered it everywhere mind you.

Well, obviously that look she was giving was telling your wife that either wunty gets home now, or the toy gets it.

RIP Daphne
I cannot believe I'm in this thread for this reason, the stupid cat had climbed into the tumble dryer, she's never done that in the nine years we've had her, kids and wife are devastated. It's not hit home yet, we've just buried her in the front garden, as that's usually where she liked to hang out.
