I have a new friend, random cat out my lane that I'm starting to think is proper homeless and not just an outside cat. He likes my garden chairs and seen him on my little cctv camera that looks over my motorbike all summer but with the crap weather and me passing on my way to have a smoke in the shed many times evey day he's got quite friendly and clearly comfortable in the shed. With the colder weather and a small hole I made in one of the shed windows he now uses it 20+ hours a day with a little wander at random times. The little guy is breaking my heart and I worry I'll cave in soon and let him in the house for any storms or freezing weather. Any opinions or advice with strays like this and how to make sure I've not stolen someones cat. I just cant feel any chip between his shoulder and cant get him to a vet to check for a couple of weeks.

Any local cat/pet pages on Facebook? They're usually pretty good at getting the word out or giving advice

Just keep him shedward and keep an eye out for flyers. Anyone that cares will post them up. Is he bony?

Yeah he looks fine and healthy, sent a few pics to a girl I know who just finished her masters and on her way to becoming a vet.

Tried calling somewhere like companion care for an appointment if you've got one near you? (lots of pets at home stores have them)
I'm weak so I'd probably just let him straight into the house, but like you say you could be nicking someone's pet so erm, probably best not to listen to me... Local area Facebook page and maybe even put up a "found" flyer, as he definitely doesn't look like an emaciated stray.

What's your heart saying, you hoping to find an owner or nah? 20ish hours a day in your shed sort of says he's homeless, but he's still getting fed so hard to say what the deal is. Do you have a carrier to get him to the vet? If so pop it into the shed by that chair asap so he gets used(ish) to it

No idea, I'm not looking for a cat but I'd rather him around than the dead mice I see when I take the motorbike down the lane to leave, or during lockdown when the rats left the high street and came closer to my home scavenging food.
I got a couple of people who live near to me and share my lane I can ask, just got to run into them or go knocking a couple of doors. I'll ask tomorrow down pets at home about some flea products and who can scan for a chip near to me, maybe just make sure he wont freeze to death.

Keep him warm and fed in lè shed and if he wants in, then whaddya gonna do about it. Cats are going to cat. Main thing is to get a chip scan done imo

I would really like an adoption greyhound but I'm a bit concerned about the days I go into work and if I go out for a night out. I think if I can go for a long walk in the mornings they're pretty fond of sleeping for most of the day. Anyone had/have a greyhound? We rescued a Saluki x Greyhound (Lurcher) 5 months ago. The Saluki in them makes them a lot more independent than just Greyhound. The separation anxiety is something any dog can suffer from really and it's something you'd have to work on by increasing time left alone progressively. We also use Pawshake to get people to come and stay with him if we'll be out for a few hours or more.

Poor little fucker. I turn my back for a couple of minutes, then this happens: Even worse, the missus has bought him a 'cute little Christmas coat'. NOOOOOOO.

We've been looking after a friend's golden poo and he certainly lives up to the name. Two gigantic steaming shits that I would be proud of in one evening alone.

I love goldendoodles. I grew up with Standard Poodles and they have amazing temperaments. My wife forbids one because they look daft (they do tbf) so a cross with a retriever or lab is about the next best thing. When I retire...

Yeah, he's just such a chill dude. Was worried about him getting on with the cats but he barely even looks at them. My brother had a labradoodle which was similarly soppy. They do look a bit daft and wouldn't have been my first choice looks-wise, but I'd definitely consider one after having him around for a few days. Dog tax;

One of my cats is on top of my bedroom wardrobe and the little sod is snoring like a 20 stone drunk. Noisy little bugger

Making a strong effort to make sure the cats aren’t feeling neglected whilst Kernow demands so much attention. Podrick just reminding me that no matter how cute Kernow is, there’s nobody quite like Pod. The most ridiculous cat there ever was.

Isn't it technically a picture of him cleaning his arse? No, that’s just how he sits. He’s very special.
