Penny had her first visit to the park on Saturday. Met both her cousins there (we call them her cousins - the wife's sisters dogs) and tore about the place for a good 2 horus solid. no idea where she got the energy from, crazy little fuzzball. She's not afraid either! What's nice is that it's becoming quite clear that she's quite happy to meet other people and dogs and is a very friendly little puppy.
Dropped the boy off for his piano lesson last night though and took her to the woods for an explore. She lasted 10 minutes then began shaking quite a lot so I took her back to the car where she was quite happy to sit on my lap and look at the trees until it was time to collect the boy. She then spent 2 hours tearing around the house and going nuts before passing out on the couch. Even tried taking her for a short walk down the street after to tire her out and she noped straight back home!

Careful how much walking you do early on wunty! Rough ball park is 5 minutes for every month (20 minutes for a 4 month old say), too much exercise while they're growing can have consequences with hips and joints.

That's cool, it's very much talking about structured rigorous walking.

Ugh, just took Dud for a walk and saw this old man holding his dog on his leash so fucking tightly. I've talked to him a bit and he's clearly a guy who thinks being tough on your dog is the only way.
The dog just looks miserable as he's tethered to this lumbering old guy who walks at 1 mile an hour and holds the leash at about a foot. He's obviously bought himself a dog that's too big for him at his age and the only thing he can think of is to yank him and not let him do anything.
It's infuriating to see.

Are we ruling out that he walked the dog to death and quit before it got awkward?

Fucks sake, I told you to stop peeking through my curtains. If you want to watch you only have to ask and you can sit on the watching stool.

I'm legitimately saddened by Wunty's departure from the forum, and hope he sees fit to return at some stage; in the meantime, I hope he's doing okay.

There’s a dude in my subdivision who takes his cat for a walk every day, and said cat is obsessed with our house. It heads over here straight away every time and hangs around our bushes for a while.

I can't imagine any of our cats over the years being willing to be demeaned by being taken for a walk like a lowly dog.
We did have one tgat liked to follow us round the block or when out for a walk with our toddler or when he was on a bike with stabilisers though.
Always kept its distance in case you returned it home. We eventually had to run out of the street before being able to walk when out of its sight.
Cats are weird.

Dudley is so cute. Also, I had a dachshund when I was growing up. They're lovely little sausage bois.

Just had to have one of our cats put to sleep. Minnie (don't ask), black and white rescue cat. Street cat as well, despite her size, she took no prisoners. Bless her.
First pet the current Ms Eleven63 and I got. Sad day. That's the problem with pets, the fuckers die on you!
Raising a glass later.
RIP Minnie.
