Been out for a bimble in the rain. Haven't seen a soul all morning, just the hound and I. Lovely. 😎

So we gave her her first bath… she loved it.
I then found fleas on her 😣
Vet is shut today. Argh. She had them on her head and no where else. Got a fine flea comb and got the fuckers out. Still think there’s one on her but she’s been combed within the inch of her life. Last four hours on fact! Meantime i got flea house spray that was recommended and sprayed all bedding and couches and rugs. Washed what we could and hoovered like fuck.
Anything else I can do til we can get her to a vets on Monday?
\stressed
The silver lining was she loved her bath and fell asleep when I was drying her.

Awww, bless. I wouldn't stress if it's only a couple. They should die out if you get some decent prescription stuff from the vet. Bravecto has worked very worked well for our moggies so far (think you can get it for dogs too), and it's only once every three months.

Thanks man hopefully the vet can sort her on Monday.
What’s funny is that after all that she’s about 300% fluffier. She’s basically a cloud with legs.

Yeah, fleas aren't too bad. Ticks on the other hand... We had a pampas grass that our pup used to like to lie at the base of. Noticed something above her eye one day which turned out to be about five ticks in a row. Then we saw more, and more... ended up picking over a hundred off her. It was horrible.

We got the vet to give us a tick collar which he's been wearing for months now. Gives us peace of mind.

We tried one after that but it made her go a bit loopy. Getting rid of the pampas grass did the trick.

Off to the vet she goes this morning. Bloody fleas. Not even that many but there’s one little fucker I can’t get near her nose. She’s been combed within the inch of her life the last two days. Hopefully after this morning we’ll be able to get shot of them.
Also, thought the nights had been going too well. Someone decided to cry all last night. Wonder what I did wrong.

The vet couldn't really find any of the little fuckers but was very good apparently and gave the wife three months of tablets. Because we went during the consultation period we had to pay the consultation fee of £50!. Apparently next time we can go out of consultation hours and we would have only paid half. Never mind. Little fuzzball is worth it and any fleas will be dead in two hours apparently.
He said it probably came from the cats that frequent our garden. I've got the grass nice and short and she's not been anywhere else so it must have come from them somehow. Either way, no more little jumping fuckers!

Fingers crossed she'll be fine. Some breeds are more susceptible to fleas than others, I'm sure the vet will be able to sort her out. Regarding what you did wrong, probably nothing. She'll have the odd night where nothing is right, she can't settle etc. Even the easiest, best behaved dogs have their moments. Major threw up his dinner on the living room carpet for no apparent reason last night. He was fine afterwards, immediately wanted a drink and then curled up with me and went to sleep. Had a walk, a play and his breakfast with no problems this morning. Seems fine now. Probably just ate something he shouldn't (cat poop is his favourite yuck) in the park. *shrug*

Yeah probably. She was going nuts all day yesterday as well, so thought if anything she would have had a great sleep and tired herself out!
Can't wait til we can take her to the park etc cat shit notwithstanding (although I've had to clear some from the garden recently so I may not even have to go that far if she wants to chow down on some). Second vaccine next week then the weekend after that she's all clear to mingle.

So far have lucked out on too much muck rolling or eating.
Duds getting very distracted by female dogs now. His recall disappears if there's just the right female.
Going to look up adolescent classes before we resort to giving him the snip. That'll be the last resort. I see too many fearful small dogs and he's so confident at the moment, I don't want to jeopardise that.

We got a message from our breeder, she tried to mate her Havanese with a Poodle, which didn't work (she wants it to happen naturally, not by holding down the female and forcing the male upon her). She then tried it with another Havanese, which worked out, so she will most likely have some Havanese puppies.
But not Havapoos. The GF is devastated, she was so much looking forward to one. And there don't seem any other breeders more or less near us.
So now we're trying to decide if we should get a Havanese instead. They're not a world apart from a Havapoo, the breeder is just excellent, and they would be born in 2 months.

Took the little crazy fuzzball for her second vaccine on Sat and he also did one for Kennel Cough as well so I think that's all her bits done. Fleas, worms, Vaccines etc. Another few days and she can properly mingle!
She's very much coming into her own now and is absolutely bonkers. I'm still compeltely obsessed with her, naturally.

It starts getting really fun now. At some point, you're guaranteed to find yourself standing in a field in the middle of nowhere, freezing cold and soaking wet, shouting her name as various bushes rustle in the background, until you genuinely start to think you've lost her and you'll pull out your phone... And she'll come bombing up behind you and jump on you.

Also discovered that ice cubes are endless fun. Until they get pinged under the couch.

Figure that I need to contribute some pet photos of my own, rather than just lurking and seeing all the cuteness for free. Behold, our two kitties, adopted just over a year ago. Brother and sister, roughly five years old. Chaplin, clearly high on *something*: Houdini, enjoying some autumn sun The two of them showing some affection for once:
