If she responds to her meds she may have a few weeks if not it's likely to be days.
Honestly she is one of the few things that makes me smile and she will be gone soon.

So sorry. Lost both my main coons to terminal conditions (they did well for their breed 13 and 15) but we were “lucky” as we Got a good few months from diagnosis. Best wishes frog

So last week the new cat was finally allowed out.
Thus far this week there has been one mouse brought home and this morning during breakfast a dead bird was brought into the house. I had to pick up her brekkie and remove it to the garden for her munching pleasure.
Yes, this is your home, but inside is NOT a dining facility for your extra-curricular snacking. The dining table for those is outside.
I hope she learns this quickly as I don't want to have to hoover more feathers up from the living room carpet every morning.
My apologies to Mother Nature for the decimation to the local fauna my household pet is inflicting.

My apologies to Mother Nature for the decimation to the local fauna my household pet is inflicting. Cats don't have the capacity to learn, especially if it is not to their advantage. We got a collar because we wanted her to have contact details as she is such a wanderer (we get 2-3 call a week from people thinking she is lost!) and it has a bell. That curtailed the presents... for about 2 weeks until she clearly learnt how to work around it. Now back to normality; 2-3 mice a day, mainly alive.

That's one of the things that makes me think twice about a cat, how they can decimate the local wildlife. I seem to remember an effective remedy is a kind of bib that they have to wear which makes it harder for them to pounce.

Somebody has collared one of the feral cats that happen to trespass on my property. Just sprayed the bastard with the hose as he was stalking a skink.

That headline reads as if it's going to be mandatory for all new suburbs to *have* cats, until you read the article.

We are just going to air drop cats to all suburbs. Don't mind the mess.

Been there myself with my cat Ozzy last year. Heartbreaking. A year later I'm still not fully over it and tear up thinking back to the last moments. You have my deepest condolences, it truly is gut wrenching losing a beloved pet.

Sad to hear that frog. We get years of enjoyment, love and companionship from our pets. The end always sucks, but fortunately it’s but a fraction of the time we spent together with them. We still - both - cone pit well ahead when the final tally is done

One of our 7 year old cats has started to look a bit thin this last week or so (we have twin females), she's always been a little overweight and greedy so distinctive is the change, she's still pretty chummy and hungry at breakfast time as ever but definitely not eating as much of her normal food. She still gobbles down any old treats that go her way. Her normal diet is (or used to be) Whiskas and some James Wellbeloved biscuits but just lately I've put off buying more of the JW and we've also probably lessened their flea treatment as money is tight. So after seeing her weight loss flea treatment has been reinstated and some JW cat food is on order. Fingers crossed she bounces back .....

Maybe get the vet to check for thyroid levels.
Ours had the shits and lost weight and was v. nervy. Turned out to be hypothyroidism. Meds sorted it right out for many years.
