I’ve spent a grand total of seven hours in the vets today. Four hours in emergency at 2 in the morning and another three during the day getting proper ultrasounds and whatnot. The cat threw up and then collapsed in the night so we rushed her in. Apparently she just had a stomach bug or some other GI lining irritation and rather than trying to carry on through it just thought “meh I’ll just stop eating and drinking until I feel better”. So she’s now had a bunch of IV fluids, antibiotics and pain meds and is sulking under her chair for having been manhandled by vet techs. Glad she's OK. Emergency vet visits are no fun at all. |

My four emergency visits have been a 50 50 split of crushingly expensive but pointless (cats going after wasps on bank holidays, not being stung, but getting the emergency vet to abandon her barbeque anyway) or just crushing because they never came home again. Danno you’ll live to regret it. He was completely hyper for about four straight hours this evening, and gave me an ultimatum; either I play a very vigorous game of fetch all night without a break, no matter how much my middle aged back hurts, or he will eat the soundbar. Dogs are the best. Puppies are the worst.

I know exactly how it is dude. Once spent an hour going up and down escalators at London Bridge to try to (successfully) break that fear. I was the 1am, 3am, 5am time to pee guy. Despite all that and nuch more my ex-ex still kept my dog  |

Our 15year old mog is now having laboured breathing, occasional wheezing and not eating since last night. I think it caught gremmi's cat's cooties over the interwebz. Trying to book an appointment at the vet to see what's up is difficult, but they seem to think we might be able to get an 'emergency appointment' later after work. This makes things feel a bit worse tbh as they obvs think it could be more serious... |

Already enrolled with a friend's puppy classes. She's a trainer and works with assistance dogs as well. I've got this!

Had to do the decent thing, vet reckoned she wouldn't have lasted the weekend. Our son is broken, since she was the same age as him & they were best buds as she kipped on his bed every night. Sad times. 😥 But with many happy memories. |
