Yes it was. I read that cats tend to stay pretty healthy and not suffer until it's time to go and when it is time they go quickly, so it would have been swift either way. I'm glad you have them a nice home for 15 years. That's good for a cat.

Radio silence from the breeder now. We've tried emailing and texting to find out when to pick up the puppy but we've had nothing back.
Supposed to be picking him up tomorrow and now we're just incredibly anxious about the whole thing.

Did you get the proper visits i.e. with his mum and the rest of the litter? Are the breeders KC registered? |

There are lots of puppy scams about. If you haven't seen the puppy in person and they've insisted on payment in advance, it's probably a scam.

That's not great, but on the slightly plus side it does sound like incompetence/inexperience rather than an out and out scam op. You mentioned she was a bit on the senior side? Maybe give her a call first thing and gently air some grievances and arrange a pickup time - looking back at your precious you covered off the other stuff I was thinking about, so it doesn't sound like a proper disasterscam. |

We ended up 6 grand in the hole because of a birth defect and a week's gap between insurances and the breeder disappeared into nowhere. |

We're moving house in a few days, not quite sure what to do with the two cats, they tolerate each other but will have a bit of a punchup, usually only a second or two and they stop when we intervene, they're not jabbed so can't go to a cattery, we were thinking of locking them both in a bedroom before the removers arrive and once they've cleared another bedroom we transfer them both to that one, they'll just have to get on with it whilst they're locked in a room, they'd have a litter tray though they've not used a tray for years, not sure what else we can do. I guess we could bundle them into their cages but that seems a little drastic, or am I just being soppy?

I'd go with shutting them in a room and then shuffling to another when it's been cleared. Cats tend to hold it in if they're in a stressful situation, so you should be alright but litter tray definitely sounds like a plan.
