I really enjoyed the most recent episode.
This show has the capacity to make me think, laugh, and... well, for want of an unwanky way of putting it, feel. No mean feat.
Was that the season finale?

I am in no way a huge fan of anime but I do watch occasionally but this just looks fucking awful, like a YouTube amateur project that someone who won't give up Adobe Flash has done. I wondered if Channel 4 would be getting it in the UK, after watching the trailer I don't think I care.

To be fair it's developed and animated by actual Japanese studios.
The level of animation is entirely in keeping with a lot of anime tbh.

That looks like it might a story from the opening credits. Been a while since I watched an episode or seen the credits but I'm fairly sure there are shots with vertical cryotubes in.
EDIT: Well I've just hopped on the Netflix app and quickly scanned through opening credits for ep1 of seasons 1-6 and this isn't a thing so eo either I imagined the shit out of it or I'm conflating it with the shots of Rick picking out a new vacuum sealed Morty. I'm going option 1 o.0
