The 2 finale episodes were pretty great, certainly sets the next season up.

Yeah, definitely two of the stronger episodes of the season. Going to be an annoying wait for the next season now, which I wasn't expecting to be feeling right now.

I’m not really sure what the ramifications of that are. Was the wall torn down and so Rick is no longer “The Smartest Man In The Universe”? It could mean some bigger enemies if so.
Or it’s possible that it was simply Evil Morty’s desire to go to a place with no Rick’s at all, and the wall is otherwise intact, which would also probably free the writers from having to do anything more with Evil Morty, his story is probably finished now.

I think it's probably both. Having universes where there's smarter people than Rick, seems like it would open up a lot of possibilities for storytelling. So I think (well, hope) that there's no barrier between them now.
But I think they're also done with Evil Morty. Maybe they could do one more episode showing what happened to him, but that arc feels pretty finished to me.

He doesn't burp nearly as much in later seasons. I remember reading somewhere that it was getting pretty uncomfortable for Roiland to force burping as much as he did, so they decided to cut back on it.
And you really shouldn't be mentioning this and Family Guy in the same sentence. Even the worst episode of Rick and Morty is miles ahead.

I guess that was the joke.

It's not exactly original (the Simpsons did it!), but it did have at least two layers. |

New season has started, up on All 4/E4. Really strong first episode IMO.

Do people just have incredible memories these days? There were so many call backs and references in that episode I felt like I'd turned up at an exam after not studying all year.
Or maybe I'm just getting old and can't remember what happened last season...

6x09 guest starred David Mitchell, Robert Webb, Matt King, Daniel Radcliffe and Jack Black. Basically a Peep Show reunion with two extras.

Yeah, quite a cast, I had a double take on the credits.
You can definitely hear them if you rewatch it and get through all the accents.

Yeah I noticed it sounded like Mitchell early on but didn't pick up on Webb until near the end. And the others I had no clue. It also sounded a bit like they'd pitched them up a bit.

After the recent revelations of Justin Roiland's domestic abuse allegations Adult Swim has told him to fuck off and he's resigned from Squanch Games. They've probably known about this for a couple of years but only acted when it became public so they're not exactly heroes.

I remember seeing a clip (I believe either on here or back on EG) of a game speedrun or something where someone over voicechat completely nails both Rick and Morty's voices. A bit heavy on the "Aw geez" for Morty but otherwise spot on.

I can't argue with the decision to not work with Roiland, but I do wonder how the show might be impacted, as he was still very involved in the writing, and there a fair bit of improv (though tbh the overtly improv bits can drag so maybe that's not a big loss)

It's interesting (to me) that they've decided to publicly cut him off like that without the conclusion of the court case. He is still only the *allegedly* domestically violent Justin Roiland.
