This episode was certainly something, very glad I wasn't eating it while watching! New voices are working fine for me, as I expected if I hadn't been aware they'd been recast I doubt I'd have noticed, are we really sure they've been recast and aren't just the originals wearing nose glasses? The cover of "Live Forever" and how it was used was fantastic.

yeah, I've liked this season so far. Maybe a couple too many returning faces (the President has got a bit boring) but some good stories.

That was an excellent episode. Very funny and managed a bit of pathos too. Best evidence so far that they don't need Roiland.

I think this whole season has been pretty good, it keeps surprising me and tbh you wouldn't even realise Roiland was missing.

I haven't watched the last episode yet but the season has been very good and the whole voice thing is an odd one. Like others have said it's hard to tell the difference, so much so I've questioned if he was here for most of the recording on the season before going.
Never really been a spaghetti and sauce kinda guy before ...

The Kuato episode was fine, I guess. The premise didn't really get far beyond "what if there were Kuatos", but not all the episodes can be bangers.

I think the biggest change is the pace at which it rattles through ideas. Ideas which would be a single scene and then forgotten about are the premise for entire episodes. Throwaway gags that you could blink and miss are now replaced by signposted and laboured punchlines to make sure you don't miss them. And I swear they then seen to just repeat the same gag again. The best episodes hinge on mashing up 3 or 4 sci fi cliches and taking them all to their logical extremes, whereas now they'd have one idea and just tread water with it for the whole episode and go nowhere.
There was a unbridled creative energy driving this is the past now seems to have burned out.

Bloody hell, episode 8 is a pretty drastic dive in quality. Put it on just to have on while I eat but ended up giving up halfway through.

At the start I was like "oh that's cool, it's the end of get schwifty" but about half way through I was bored!

It was pretty shit. It's the kind of idea that seems good until it comes together and you realise it doesn't work at all.
I think every season has had one or two stinkers. I'm thinking of that Captain Planet riffing one from a season or two back. That's always an instant skip from me.

Last week's was incredibly weak, the only real bad episode of this season (the Total Recall one didn't really work but it wasn't bad), this week though : fabulous. I do wonder just how much of it was just a set up to get to the Popeball gag. |

Felt like 7x10 was setting The Suit Guy up to be a riff on Rod Serling there, but then kinda... didn't.
Morty voice really wavered in sound-alike quality a few times in this one, and personally I'm hoping next season they do a plot thing where his voice finally breaks and suddenly becomes a new and consistent voice. "Just like on King Of The Hill! Remember that show, Morty? Where Joseph's voice changed, Morty? Remember that?"

I think this whole season has been pretty good, it keeps surprising me and tbh you wouldn't even realise Roiland was missing. I had no idea about any of it until yesterday and didn't notice at all while watching the last season.
The show bounced around between different streaming platforms here over the last couple of years, so I only recently caught up on it. My enthusiasm waned a little bit as it went along. Still good, but the episodes that manage to both hit on a cool idea and be really funny at the same time are just a little further apart as it goes along.
