The Ant and the Grasshopper
The ant piles away food for the future whereas the grasshopper just eats to his heart's content but come winter he's fucked. Moral: Planning for the future pays off.
Now the but that annoys me is that ants live for 4 years, while grasshoppers live for just 1 year. Why would a grasshopper plan for the future if it's just going to be dead? Absolute nonsense.

The Hare and the Tortoise, the moral is supposed to be slow and steady wins the race. The Hare is characterised as quick but ultimately aimless and idle, and the Tortoise is slow but unrelenting. But I've seen tortoises in real life and they have no concept of competitive sports. Hares don't either but I've never come across one that's overly confident of it's own abilities. It's just rubbish. I’ve heard that be given as the moral but never interpreted it that way. The hare lost because he was cocky, not because he was fast. A not-a-twat hare would’ve won the race. |

The sound of American children. I dislike the sound of all children, but there’s something about that high pitched squeal with an American accent that really gets to me. Far more noticeable this time of year with all the Christmas films of excited kids yelling “Saaaynna” because Santa doesn’t have a “t” in American.
Also the Jackson 5 version of Santa Claus is coming to town. Technically great singing but that voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

When we have vegetarian friends come round for dinner we make an effort to cook them veggie meals. When we go to theirs for dinner they serve us veggie meals. How the fuck is that fair?
