Christ, Scotland actually dug that out tonight, eh? I am, of course, expecting a ludicrous capitulation in the Israel game at home, but still ... they've given themselves a chance of actually stringing together successive appearances at major tournaments.

That's a good win for Scotland. I know you've been hurt before but this squad has lots of mental strength, and now a history of qualifying too. This is what dragged us over the line in the once-upon-a-time era even when we had no right to get there. I hope you make it. Wales too.
For us, a lucky OG equaliser after a spell of crowd-induced pressure felt a bit like the old days. We're still shit and will continue to be for a while yet but there are green shoots at last. I think we have stopped sliding. Gavin Bazunu looks like he's close to being the real deal in goal, Andrew Obamamidele is looking like a real player and a kind that we haven't had for a long time (hopefully he gets a run at Norwich this year, was good in pre-season), and Idah has done lots of hard jobs well in the last three games although it'll be hard for him to get a run out at Norwich this year up front. There are more small positives in a sea of negatives but we have a chance of starting to improve for the first time in fuck knows how long. I think the manager isn't good enough for a variety of reasons but he can stay this campaign out for me.

Felt like that equaliser was coming at the end. Shame but not a terrible result.
Obviously I’m in no position to criticise Southgate given what he’s achieved, but I don’t understand his reluctance to make changes. Sterling looked knackered last 10 minutes and Grealish just got more moany as the match went on.
Seems mad when you’ve got someone like Saka on the bench who could have made a difference and maybe knicked us a second goal on the break.
Also, great strike by Kane but I think Chesney has got to do better there.
