Yes the mines. Upgrade the mines so you have 3 laser beams coming off it with maxed out damage. I swear you dont need any other gun in the game other than that and the force gun. So I have been playing DS2 and there is a gun in that called the Detonator. Its similar in how it works, it has 3 laser beams, but they blow up when the beams are broken instead of continuing to burn. Its dangerous if you are close to it when it explodes. So basically, the Detonator in DS2 is NOT AS GOOD as the secondary fire mode of the line gun in DS1 Remake. As much as I love the DS Remake, there is no denying that the changes they made have resulted in the game being FAR easier than it ever was.
Will be interesting to see how they handle the DS2 Remake, because as I play through that one also on hard mode, the combat is much more intense than it ever was in the Remake of DS1 on hard. This is the only fault I have of the Remake, its too easy.

Is there no denying it? Not everyone likes playing games nor do they do find it easy on hard mode my dude.

Yes, there is no denying it.
It's fine if you want to play on easy, I have no issue with this, that's what the difficulty options are for.
It doesn't change the fact that the Remake is FAR easier than the original though, that's all I am saying. Hard mode in this feels like normal mode of the original. I can only imagine that Easy mode offers no challenge whatsoever, even if you are a novice at games (only assuming as I haven't tried it).

Why are you painting an opinion as a fact? You like to play games on hard mode, you like telling us this, you find the game easy, not everyone does.

That said I played the whole game through on hard without even putting the telly on.

I'm definitely older. It's either medium or if that pisses me off, straight down to easy

Depends on the game. Souls-likes get a free pass but the moment I start butting my head against a wall in a more linear game, down it goes to easy. Too many difficutly spikes on too many games over the years. Can't. Be. Fucked.
That said I thought normal on DS was perfectly pitched for me.

I think I have it on normal actually.
I'll probably put 2 and 3 on easy though to get through them. Got enough going on as it is

Its not an opinion, it is FACT. There are plenty of threads on subreddit claiming the same thing. However, you are misconstruing what I am saying.
It doesn't matter how easy or hard someone finds the game, there is no doubt that the Remake is an easier game than the original. Go back and play the original and then tell me this isn't true, regardless what difficulty you may choose.
That's all I am saying. Even on easy I bet you would find the original a harder game overall.
The problem only lies when you are after a challenge like myself and the game does not offer it at all. There are not many games where I actually choose Hard mode, I'm 42 so I don't have the patience myself, not like in my younger days. However DS is one of my favourite franchises so I am more familiar with this game than most, hence why I am dissapointed there is a lack of challenge.
Still love the Remake though.

Dead Space 2 combat was always much harder than the original game. I found it frustrating, didn’t enjoy the encounter design much at all.

No I am not a Science teacher, just as well probably.
Even though I played through DS2 multiple times, it still surprised me how much more difficult the combat is. It's mainly because the enemies are much more aggressive, they can quickly swamp and overwhelm you if you are not careful.
I found myself doing a lot more running about and having to rely on quick reactions. Those fuckers which crawl on all fours and have a tail, those are particularly brutal. They jump to the walls and ceilings and you lose where they are, next things they are clawing at your neck. While this is happening there may be a swarm of exploding babies running towards you. The variety of the enemies really keeps you on your toes.

I assume everyone has finished this now, thread has gone dark.
Anyone planning on completing the whole trilogy?
I completed DS2 last night. Such a fantastic game, even though I don't like the final boss fight. Only took 10hrs so much shorter than the original. Played on survivalist difficulty and I seriously considered dropping the difficulty just before the final boss. In the end I sold one of my guns and bought loads of med packs. Went into the final battle with about 10 med kits and ended up using them all. DS2 is a much harder game than the original, the enemies rush you and they will throw so many at you in tight spaces.
Also started DS3 last night when DS2 was finished. Some big action set pieces in the first hour alone, they don't hold back. I started this one last year but got sidetracked and didn't finish it. I can't remember anything about the last half of the game or the ending (I assume I completed this on x360 as NG+ is already unlocked), so I am going to enjoy this I hope. Started on hard difficulty but think I am going to drop that down, I want to enjoy this, not be on edge all the time.

I've been busy with other stuff, but I did track down a ps3 copy of ds2 yesterday. I already have 3 installed on my ps3 so I'm ready to do all 3.
Just need to set aside some time now

If you have an Xbox the entire OG trilogy is on Gamepass and DS2 and 3 both have 60fps modes and auto HDR. Just a shame they didn't get the resolution bump patch as well.

Even without the resolution patch they still feel and look great with the 60fps boost and HDR. Antialiasing is not great, but you don't notice it much of the time in the dark corridors.
Dead Space 3 is still quite the looker, even 10 years after its release. I love how you spend more time in the vastness of space. With the planet and ships debris in the background, it still manages to impress.

Anyone else experienced crashing with this game? Got the PS5 version and it crashed on me last night and wouldn't restart until I rebuilt the database and annoyingly deleted the save.
