Apparently there's a live stream later today(31st Aug 2021) that's gonna show some early footage of the game. It's EA though so my guess is studio footage with brief concept art shots now and then.

It's weird what the mind fills in, I'm often disappointed with older games if I reply them.
The only exception seems to be stuff with sprites.

I had the same reaction when I was watching the stream. I remember it looking way better than that. I ended up looking at a playthrough of the 360 version and it does look like that. I still think it looks good though for the age. imgur.com/a/vtrJagB |

I did a playthrough of DS1 a few weeks back on the Pc and that version definitely looks better, I was surprised by how good it did look given it's age. Here's hoping they change it up a decent amount as the enemy variety is definitely lacking in the first, kind of wish it was the 2nd that was getting a remake.

Was going to give this a miss, having just played through the first one on PS3. That comparison picture is making me waver as it’s so pretty.
I’d be happy if they deal with the obvious vent differences. If they all look the same from the outside, so you aren’t ready for a necro leaping out, that would be a huge improvement.

I'd probably play a remake, as long as they get rid of the asteroid sequence. Worst part of the game by far.

Never played this but I have it on my origin account. Worth a play? Definitely. It holds up so much better than I thought it might having just gone through 1 and 2 in the past month or so. Top tip if you do, disable v-sync in game and enable it in your Nvidia or AMD control panel instead as otherwise you're limited to 30fps which I found especially miserable on these games for some reason. In short, definitely. I'll still be playing the remake, the first 2 are still amazing games and no bother at all to run at 4k 60 with even reasonable kit. |

Was surprised they decided to remake this. First game still holds up well enough that a remaster would have been sufficient and they could've given us a new one instead imo.
Still... better this than the IP being left to rot I guess.
