I liked DS1, but never actually finished it. The zero-G sections were just too annoying. Kinda drifted away and never got back to it, even though I was probably close to the end.

How come? It’s a 7 at best. The atmosphere and sound alone is a 7.

Using the full scale rather than ‘seven is average’, it probably is a high seven. It does drag really badly at the end and definitely knocks a few points off.
Two is it’s perfected form.

Might be my old eyes but this just looks exactly how I remember the first one. Wasn't that impressed seeing as it's a "ground up" remake

I thought 2 went too action game not enough horror. 7 for 2 easy 9 for me for the first one.

I think your memory may be upscaling the old game a bit.

I’m hoping this does the numbers to allow them to do three properly. By which I mean burn it all and start from scratch.

Callisto Protocol is basically Dead Space 4 by the looks of it.

I replayed Dead Space last year. DS2 is overall the better game, but something about the horror of the original elevates it for me.

The on-rails wii Dead space extraction was pretty sweet as well. Potato visuals aside.

Looks nice but at £70 EA can do one.

Can't wait for this, looks great. The OG is one of my favourite games. Yeah, I like the sequel but the original has such an oppressive atmosphere with an amazing sense of place. Like, I actually felt the Ishimura was a coherent location as opposed to just a series of interlocking corridors.

Yeah same as the others the OG was a 9 for me back in the day, the second one was a 7. Never played the third one as I read that they doubled down on the elements that made the second game inferior
I’ll almost certainly buy this

Wasn't there a stupid side kick or co-op added to 3? And some mess around spending real money for weapons or something.

It had the lot. Tacked on co-op which spoiled the pacing and atmosphere, resource micro transactions which meant getting mats in normal play was a hassle and, the coup de grace, nobody actually saw the proper ending as they chopped it out and made it DLC.
When my origin account got hacked, this was literally the only game they didn’t play.

I actually hated the encounter design in the second game, loved the first game though. Couldn’t explain why it was so maligned by critics, I can only suggest they are all pea-brained assholes who like Call Of Duty and Destiny, which are games for morons.

Just as a reminder for those choking at what will undoubtedly be an offensive RRP, if you're on Game Pass just wait out six months and play it when it becomes available on EA Play. That's my plan at least.

The new footage doesn’t really look any different to how I remember the original game. Enemy models weren’t very detailed. Probably won’t be obvious until it’s on a 4K screen without compression etc.

Looks nice but at £70 EA can do one. I keep forgetting most new games are £70 now. Thank God for Gamepass really. And waiting 6-12 months for games to go on sale and then cash in MS Rewards points to get them "for free" anyway.

In fairness the trailer I watched yesterday was how I remembered it looking too. Then I watched the original trailer above... Yikes!

It's only Sony first party titles and a few chancers who think they can pull the same trick. I'll be waiting for this to drop on EA Access on principle.
