The corpses in this have a Dark Souls quality to them. I keep getting dead necromorphs caught up in my feet. I panicked the other night as I caught something flailing around my legs but turned out to be the corpse of poor worker.
I was on the big mining elevator and I assume one got caught up somewhere, because it dropped on my shoulders and made me freak out. I genuinely had been quite calm about the horror in this up to that point.

The upgraded Line Gun is beastly isn't it (the alt-fire). The game knew it's onions when it was giving me all that ammo earlier on. Yikes.
Halfway through chapter 12 now. Nearly there. It's been fucking immense.
Oh, found the force gun as well. Love it. Found it just by going to bits that I'd missed. Turns out there were a few.

Sub 1080p in performance mode for consoles
Pre-patch, PS5 version suffered the most from edge-aliasing related to VRS
Post-patch, all versions have FSR stripped out.
Game utilizes FSR 2.1.2 on console
Pixel counts and FSR resolve at bottom.
Aside from resolution, little to nothing divides Series S from PS5|SX
RT mode uses RTAO on PS5|SX for better shading
Series S only has a 30 FPS mode, pre-patch it ran with unlocked and could go between 40 and 60. But now it's a nearly-locked 30
On SX|PS5, the 30 FPS Quality modes are just about 100% locked.
In Performance mode both can suffer one-off drops, PS5's drops tend to be more prolonged but both snap back to 60 quick afterward.
The VRS removal patch does not seem to have made any notable impact on performance.
Xbox issues were less pronounced

Grab an empty bottle zap both ends with the line gun. Pick bottle up with kinesis and you have a mobile Darth maul lightsaber that fucks everything up.

Xbox issues were less pronounced Actually just checked this it's not sub 1080 in performance mode, that's just the resolution before FSR2.1 is applied. It's actually a 1440p presentation. |

I should finish my new game plus play through tonight. Need to use a guide though to pick up a couple of collectables I missed so I can see the hidden ending.
And yes wunty, the upgraded line guns alt fire is probably the strongest in the whole game. Nothing can touch you and you dont need to worry about wasting ammo. Just set the mines everywhere and any that dont get set off you can reclaim anyway.

Yeah Chapter 6 is Environmental Hazard. The one in Hydroponics. One of the longer chapters as well.
I have 1 more chapter to go on my new game plus playthrough. Not sure I will finish in tonight though as I bought that Hogwarts game.

Chapter 6 is the Hydroponics one, where you have to kill that twat with the tentacles right at the end (which I did first time last night, after moaning on here I couldn't do it, typical) The bit that got to me, was a standard encounter with a necromorph that popped out of nowhere as usual, and then his mate came creeping up behind me - that was all normal, with the screeching music and the necros screaming. It was after the fight was over, and I'd stomped and picked up ammo that it fucked me up. The music had calmed down again, and it was all normal. And I put one foot forward and heard...."issssaaaaaaacccccccc" like a whisper in my left ear. Fucking shat my pants. |

I'm on chapter 7 now, "into the void". This is the mining level, where I'm hoping to get some side missions done.
I'm starting to like the flame thrower more now too. The plasma cutter is all but upgraded and I'm doing the line gun now, but I'm also putting a few in the flamer too.
Shit, need to do the suit as well.
Wish I just had 50 nodes

Just FYI, 3d audio isn't just limited to Playstation, its also on Xbox and I assume PC. Sony just have some fancy name for it and marketed it like its a brand new thing.

Yeah, I just don't have another headset that'd do it justice and don't want to dangle a cable from my controller.
Currently pair my XM3 to the TV whenever I need to use headphones for the Xbox, which is far from ideal.
Going wildly off topic but I should really find a decent set that'll work natively with all three consoles, if such a thing exists. Using the older PS gold headset (2018 model?) for the PS5, so overdue an upgrade to that too.

I have the Arctis 7x. They work on everything, xbox, switch, ps5 and pc.
I know everyone rates them highly, but I am not sure they are the best sounding headphones money can buy. They do the job alright, but I always felt that music never sounded the best.

Yeah, these will be purely for gaming on so not too worried about music (I've got the XM3 for that along with a few more options)
Just want something that'll work wirelessly with each console and provide decent sound, these seem to be one of the few options from my brief search.
