Just finished this, man it really went full ham near the end, it was bordering on belligerent with how many enemies it threw at me during the last chapter. Brilliant game overall though.

I think I’m just on chapter 4. Only finding an hour or two to play and not every day. I was squeezing an hour in at night after housemate went to bed but I was blurting out “OH FUCKING FUCK!” while absorbed in it. I am at the very start of chapter 4 also, great game. Luckily I have not played original in maybe a decade so although I remember certain things overall it is like a fresh experience. Hopefully I will get a good few hours during the weekend to get really stuck in...assuming I stay off Gears! |

Much the same for me Duff, played it at launch and don't really remember much at all. When you do the odd bit it's familiar but all fresh enough that it feels like a new game.

I’m recognising a lot as I played it not too long ago but it’s done nothing to diminish the experience. Just means I’m noticing the changes more and they are all so much for the better. All the zero g stuff is brilliant and I love the way you transition to new chapters now. So organic. Just up to ch7 now.

I have played the original quite a few times, the last time being just last year. The remake even feels significantly updated and fresh for me. They changed just enough to keep you on your toes and make the experience feel fresh, while staying ever so faithful to the original. Cannot wait for my new game+ playthrough. I must finish hi-fi rush first though, keep getting sidetracked.
So what game would we like to see next from Motive studios. A DS2 remake or DS4? I mean i would quite happily take both. |

Not sure we need a Dead Space 4. Personally I would love to see 2 given the same treatment as 1, then 3. With 3 though, they could just remove all the elements people didn't take to (cover shooting, resource gathering, universal ammo, human enemies, co-op etc) and streamline it a bit. I thought plot-wise in 3 it was fine and really loved (as I keep harping on about it) the large early section in space above the planet.

...it was a thing I liked about Dead Space 3. Along with most of it. In fact after I finish this, I'm going straight back and finishing my DS3 playthrough. Yes indeed.

The ice world being different? It is at points, yeah, but BIG chunks of it are super Dead Spacey. Dark environments full of necrobastards. Even dead things rushing towards you out the blizzards were shit scary.

I'm going to have to play 3 again now. I do vaguely remember something about an ice planet and Wunty has bugged me enough now to want to play it again I don't think I finished it. I think I have dead space 2 for the ps3 as well, and I might have 3 on some platform or another. I'm tempted to finish this, and then do 2 and 3 on whatever I have it on Do the whole shebang! |
