All anecdotal, but know of lots of people who caught it, and didn't spread it to anyone else in their houses (most of them small flats). I would say keeping the windows open, sleeping in separate rooms (so yes the sofa if you can), and avoiding contact as much as possible and there is a good chance you may get away without catching it.
My mum had it over Easter, but my dad never caught it and he didn't even bother moving to the spare room, but then she had a mild case and they were both quadruple jabbed.
Every situation is different, but it's clearly not a given you will catch it. Hope the other half has a mild case.

Yeah, both of my kids had it a 2nd time (separately) without the rest of us catching it. And I had to look after my mum when she was coughing in my face etc and didn't catch it again. Weird.

So inevitably my selfless nursing meant I caught it too.
Feedback so far: Having absolutely no sense of taste or smell is seriously fucked up.

My dad text me to say hes got it again for what feels like the 30th time. I swear to god, he must go around licking the handrails of an escalator or something.
For someone who lives in the middle of fucking nowhere he certainly makes the most of his trips out.

Im genuinely surprised he tested, so it must be bad. He is, at the very least, an 'its not that widespread and if it is its not that bad' covid minimiser.

Caught the original version, avoided Delta, tested for whatever is out now by LFT at the weekend.
Nothing like as bad but no picnic. I've taken my second day off work in 8 years today because my head/sinus will not stop hurting.

How and why is he testing? You put a swab up your nose, mix it with chemicals and put the flob mix on a test strip. Heβs testing because he thinks he has covid. Hth

Entirely possible that both of you are in the 3rd of people who are asymptomatic. Or just plain lucky!

Just re-tested and I don't have a red or a pink T line, it's purpler than Tinky Winky's tinky winky. FFS. Despite feeling crap, after testing a couple of days into symptoms I assumed it'd be on the wane. If the darkness of the line is any indicator I'm riddled.

To the best of our knowledge the four of us haven't had it either. We shut up shop completely. Did fuck all for two years, changed the kids to online school and do our best to avoid all the plague rats. Slowly, and I mean slowly emerging now.
Touch wood.

We were generally very careful except for fact kids went back to nursery after a couple months... And then now pretty much don't follow any restrictions except more cautious when showing symptoms. Just haven't quite been in large crowds in enclosed spaces, except for flying.

As long as you don't have kids, it's not rocket science. Be sensible, avoid spreader events or get FFP2/3 masked up, mask up on public transport and indoors with lots of other people. Easy peasy. Avoiding it with kids probably nigh on impossible though.

I felt ok after five or six days but it just wouldnβt bugger off.

Not really practical to wear a mask if say you're going to a family dinner. It's been said before the reality is pretty much everyone is going to catch Covid multiple times.
