Exactly. And some vulnerable and those who are just plan unluckily. There are likely some genes that predispose to severe illness ( and those that protect). It's now a thing that is in the world andis going to kill a number of people every year. Life goes on. Yeah, fuck the vulnerable and unlucky. Losers. This from someone who when others paraphrase him, says "Did I say that? Spoiler : Nope."

Ventilation in most public spaces is already very good. It’s the smaller enclosed spaces that’s the bigger issue. I guess that depends what you mean by public spaces. It's certainly not the case in schools. More that they’re fairly small single rooms.

Shouldn’t really make a difference though, hotel rooms are small and still have ac. Surely we should want children to learn in an environment with fresh air. It would be expensive but the evidence for the benefits it would have on health and learning are well proven.

The brain scraping tests don't get more pleasant, do they? Had first in a while this morning, utterly horrible! Woman said 1/3 aren't bothered, 1/3 people find it unpleasant and 1/3 find it torture. I'm in the latter group.

If the tip of the swab is touching your brain or your eyeball, they're doing it wrong...

I found my CoVid symptoms got worse after testing. This could well be just from the irritation on the nasal passage, but the idea of getting germs from the back of your through and then ramming them up your nose doesn't seem like a good idea anyway.

The tests haven’t required the throat swab for months now.

You have the choice of just doing nostrils though, just for longer.

The tests haven’t required the throat swab for months now. I have had three lots posted in the last couple of weeks and they all did according to the instructions. Same with the PCR I’ve just had.

I probably should point out that until a couple of weeks ago I hadn’t done any testing as I had no need so all of this is new to me.

Massive surge in cases in China at the moment.
They're one of the few (only?) places still perusing a "zero covid" strategy. If anybody has the authoritarian levers to achieve that, they do. And they're not.

And they're not. For perspective, the massive surge is to 3,122 cases per day, 0.0004% of the UK daily cases (per head of population). And deaths in uk 737x higher than in China, if China had've had similar deaths to the UK, 4 million people would have died.

I volunteered to have some antibody testing done as part of testing positive last week and have just done it via a kit posted to home. I wasn't expecting the amount of blood they required, thinking it would be just a pin prick. I need the Brave Little Soldier thread
