Seems pretty ridiculous that you would get a black mark against you for workplace injuries. You'd think they would want to let you off for those since you would potentially have a option for an injury claim against them.
Sounds like you work in a really shit job

They could have titled this article "Why Social Media is Bad for Mental Health" www.bbc.co.uk/news/59870550Definitely appeals to a certain type of person. All rather sad, really.

I've just read that and got halfway down and thought "this has to be the US", but no, its England. What idiots these people are. Article 61 of a document from 100's of years ago supercedes laws from today? And thats an article that was removed hundreds of years ago, so isn't valid even if they could argue the case. Nuts. Just had an environmental health officer come round to confirm that my eldest is isolating and that we were following the law and to find out who they had contacted. I've got a follow up call later to trace everyone they've seen (the link I was sent through to do the track and trace didn't work). Quite impressed. I figured it would be so old hat / endemic that they were just letting people get on with stuff.

There was a feature about them on C4 News the other night. I kind of felt sorry for them, a lot of directionless, loss men who felt like society had passed them by looking for anything to give them a purpose. Although, obviously the purpose theyβve found is thick and dangerous. Not sure how youβd deradicalise them now though.

Sounds like you work in a really shit job Definitely sounds dodgy and would lead to under reporting of health and safety issues which sounds potentially illegal (not a health and safety expert).

I work for a massive international company, I'm pretty sure they are quite safe with their policies (as shit as they may be).

My PCR test was negative (result came back 10 hours after I posted it), so I've still not got COVID despite living with the bloody thing 24/7. More than half my eldest's class have tested positive for it now.

Over half the class my wife teaches is down with it, be a miracle if she avoids it.
I did a PCR on Monday as part of the REACT study. Be interesting to see the result (assume negative given I have no symptoms and did last time).

I'm still riding the "I can't believe none of us have ever caught it (that we know of)" train, with 2 kids in Primary School since the start of the pandemic, and especially now with Omicron. Right now, 10 kids are off in my daughter's class either with covid or someone in their household. My wife and I have felt like "any day now" for months on end.

So many in their classes / football team have had it. It seems inevitable but so far we've managed to avoid it. I guess having had my booster just before Christmas helps, and my second jab was only in July so was probably pretty well protected before that still. The kids though... maybe they have had it and not realised. We've tested them them whenever they've been ill.

People keep saying isolation to end but haven't seen anything to suggest it, is that based on anything other than hearsay?

Fucking hell, 38K cases today in Switzerland, that would be the equivalent of 300k in the UK. Thankfully hospitalisation and death figures are still not soaring.

'When the current self-isolation regulations expired on 24 March, Mr Johnson said he expected not to renew them. If the data allows, the government would "seek a vote in this House to bring that date forward", the PM added." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60047438

Her demise is kinda crazy... feeling better and getting ready to go out for a walk, then her back started hurting so she lied down, then she "choked to death" within 10 minutes (I'm guessing it was fluid on her lungs which suddenly got her). Unless she was burying her head in the sand and ignoring symptoms, or completely lying about feeling better.

I would put as much stock in figures coming out of South Africa as I would in ordering a PS5 off wish.
