Not having as Turkey, Barbies Dream House and a Terry's chocolate orange at Christmas is hardly having your eyes eaten by fire ants.
It's just the right amount of modern day "suffering" as to induce rage letters to the Daily Mail and maybe, just maybe a miniscule speck of self analysis.

Aye, I'll be in Canada in a couple of years but I'll be here in spirit. Solidarity.

Just to be clear, I didn't call anyone a shitty person, just that they made a shitty decision, which is true.
I agree as well, that the entire country suffering if a shit thing to happen. What should have happened after the referendum, was that a period of consultation should have happened, cross party consensus should have been reached and we may have been able to mitigate the worst of brexit by agreeing a Norway style deal or some such.
Unfortunately, in a FPTP democracy, the majority have to suffer for the decisions (I mean the GE, not the referendum) of a minority.
So yes, we all have to suffer now, I don't want it, but that's where we are. All I'm left with is a bit of schadenfreude.
As for 'I'm alright Jack,' I'm really not. That's why I'm angry.

I genuinely am thinking of an exit strategy to get out of this ever worsening shithole. Where's good, Norway?

I think most of us are being fairly flippant with the schadenfreude rage but you are right, the most in need are the ones who will suffer most this winter.

Did the 5,000 temporary visas for butchers get mentioned in here yet? Just embarrassing shamelessness.
Edit: whoops, just 800 actually. So the 9 that come should solve a lot.

Haha, that's brilliant. Rolling back everything and claiming it as a win. Rolling back everything the Brexiters wanted (get rid of those foreigners) while we lose everything else such as our freedom of movement, the single market, all the science and technology collaboration etc. The tories are the worst and will still get voted back in.

The Brexit house of cards continues to tumble.
Interesting that it’s only the U.K. who has to take such steps to tackle the “global” lorry shortage

Or when he was literally in charge of the Department for Exiting Europe. Might have also been worth calling it out then.

In David Davies’ defence he did say this in 2017 when he was Mr Brexit:
“What’s the requirement of my job? I don’t have to be very clever. I don’t have to know that much. I just do have to be calm,” he joked.

Davis has been wrong on just about every single thing about Brexit, ever since the vote, and still he gets asked on for his 'expert' opinion.

He’ll answer the phone and do the Skype chat at a moments notice, that’s the main difference. What are those books behind him anyway, did he buy them off a door to door encyclopaedia salesman

And anyone that would still vote conservative at this point has something wrong with them.
They’ve fucked over every single demographic, income group and class of people. They are happy to do things that mean getting access to food and fuel more difficult than we’ve had for decades, they’ve overseen the worst handling of a health crisis ever, they’re destroying the NHS, increasing taxes and insisted giving kids free school meals would teach them they’ll learn to live on handouts instead of working hard and earning their way like Boris (inherited) and Sunak (in laws).
Anyone who isn’t over 70 with money is going to have a worse life than they would have under any other government. Even fucking Corbyn.

As discussed, the problem is FPTP. The arsehole vote is consolidated into one party but, to use the term quite generously, the 'progressive' vote is split over like five different parties but that vote share is bigger.
Without PR or a progressive alliance we are doomed to a lifetime of these cunts, though.

Everytime I see the govt rolling back on this stuff, I just think "cowards". Have the courage of your convition you arseholes, lets see how deep the rabbit hole goes.
