It is my sincerest wish for this christmas to be as chaotic and shit as possible. This country needs an enema.

But those same people will claim the enema is beneficial for their well-being.

It won't matter. There is pretty much nothing that will make people admit they done fucked up. It's like Covid - about the only thing that will change the mind of freedom/anti-vaxxers is death. And even then I'm not sure that would happen.

But who could possibly have predicted it would be a problem?
.. .. ..
Oh yeah, that's right, we all did but were told it was just "project fear"

I didn't think there would be someone I would detest more than Johnson, but it's unelected bureaucrat and ex-chief of the Scottish Whisky Association - who railed against Brexit - "Lord" David Frost.
Fucking bodger.

Fucking bodger. Oh you don't, not least because it's Johnson that appointed that sentient luncheon meat precisely to wind you - and anyone else paying attention - right the fuck up. He deflects. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

As a number of EU leaders and ministers express concern that the UK hasn't been acting in 'good faith', in the wake of David Frost's speech regarding the UK's intention to renege on the NI protocol (which it signed up to and heralded as a great success in order to win the 2019 election and get their Brexit deal over the line), we get a little bit of insight into how Johnson's government truly approached Brexit:

The povvos don't need chicken or turkey for Christmas, spaghetti hoops are perfectly fine.

IRL, if you make a shitty decision, there are consequences. People have to feel those consequences to learn. People need to learn that it is not the EU, immigrants, BAME people, trans people or 'the woke' that are the cause of misery in this country, but is entirely down to the Tories and 11 years (and counting) of bad governance.

No Also I get the impression some on here are well off enough to get through the shitty times ahead aka I'm alright jack

Sadly I think you're right. Anyone who hasn't already seen how shitty the current government is won't change their mind because of a terrible Christmas. They'll just blame the EU for punishing us for Brexit like the newspapers tell them to.

The people who voted for this mess typically seem like the type that'll always find something else to blame. First it was all the bloody forrins, now it's probably the forrins who think they're too good for our world class HGV driver wages.
I'd like them all to have a sudden mass awakening, but a shitty Christmas won't do that and will just be a shitty Christmas for everybody else too. It's probably what we're getting anyway though.

In the brexit thread and the one on the old forum, there is a links of gammons blaming the EU and the "teh remoaners". Even if they experience how shitty Boris and scum are, they will do mental backflips to blame the EU, "forrin" workers for not wanting to work here now, the clouds et etc . it will be never their fault, wait till boris or what ever scum takes over, gets rid of the nhs and replaces with some US style health care and they will need to crowd fund their hospital bills

Then keep pounding them. After the last decade and, more acutely, the last 18months, if people aren't at least wondering how a different set in charge might do, then let the punishment beatings continue.
I'm way beyond any sympathy when these clowns continue to "protest" outside hospitals, complain about everything their council would have covered if they had the funding from central govt or whinge about the empty supermarket shelves that are a direct effect of what they not only voted for, but still, somehow, support.

The people who still support Brexit and this government are more interested at being the "winners" than anything else, they'd be happy to play "Pass the Parcel" and the thing that was wrapped up was some dog shit as long as they "won." There's no reasoning with them, no changing their minds, the best thing is to sway those who haven't signed up to the fucking death cult that Brexitism is.
