Well worth reading Jenkins's original article from 7 years ago. Hindsight makes it even more ludicrous than it must have read when it was first published.

Get a lot of that in my line of work. Planning? Kinda. Facilitating telecoms deployment, which covers planning. "We've got crap connectivity" "Oh, you can't put that there, that spoils my view".

Used to work in a planning department and the planners had the neverending delights of such exchanges. Wind turbines were particularly hated at the time. Public submissions were always fun to read. Between that and working retail it's no surprise I have a dim view of our species.

The Govt. have given carte blanche to broadband installers to stick poles and wires up wherever they want.

And I don't even like their records.

I didn't get to vote unfortunately. Good old having surgery for cancer took care of that one for me.

I beg to differ, Brexit has stopped any issues my company had exporting to the EU.
We've just stopped doing it....
We had actually increased sales to the EU after the vote, as the pound tanking made us more competitive price wise.
The sales/enquiries just stopped. I think the increased hassle and costs just put off EU customers.

The economist article makes the point that this might actually be the first proper opportunity to observe the economic impact of Brexit clearly. Covid and Ukraine etc.. all muddied the waters so much that it was hard to definitively isolate the effect of Brexit. But this should be relatively easy to observe.

Andrea Leadsom says it’s the price of being a sovereign state.
Simple as.

The country is now in the toilet but it's a toilet we completely control! Hurrah.
I'm not suggesting we put the Brexiters against the wall though, Traitors Gate hasn't been used in hundreds of years and it would be a tourist attraction instead.

Plastic caps attached to the bottle? It’s an EU directive. Think Brexit freedoms will make U.K. exempt and force bottle manufacturers to make a U.K. only bottle?
Yet more Brexit bollocks
