Fucking hell... That has to be a recently created bit of satire, surely?... It's just a constant string of lies about everything that's gone wrong so far.

Although he is a politician and he did say this “We are not going into the next election saying that we will enter the single market or the EU."

Seems sensible and I voted remain. This is where we are now so I'd rather we crack on and fix what we can, and not in a Tory way, just get some sensible people workig on it and try to find solutions rather than burn it all down.
I'd prefer single market access etc but really can't spend all the time arguing about it. Get better people in, sort what we can and come back to the whole SM thing later.

Sunlit parking spaces. "Disabled drivers are being warned that their blue badges may not be accepted in popular European holiday destinations this summer due to Brexit. Ministers are negotiating the status of the badges - which were recognised when the UK was in the EU - with 11 nations." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62287752

Saw that. Got a chuckle out of me. I do wonder if Russia invading Ukraine has changed minds.

PMSL. "Britain would want to see other "big players" from outside the EU in attendance. All 27 members of the EU are set to be invited as well as the UK, Ukraine, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey."
Okay, but what other big European countries are there? This country is so deluded it's not even funny.

I'm actually a little bit concerned that this may be the start of the groundwork for the Tories to begin campaigning to rejoin the single market/customs union on the run up to the next election. Right now (according to the polls) they have nothing to lose by doing so, but possibly quite a lot to gain - especially as Labour are trying to embrace Brexit to win back the red wall.

I would genuinely have to consider voting for them if that were the case. Can't say for sure that I would, but I'd definitely consider it.

There's going to be at least a couple of GE's until either of the major parties start talking about closer alignment with the EU imo, let alone rejoining.

Yup, not a chance. If the Tories went for that, the red wall would be gone, and half their base. There wouldn't be enough gained to compensate given FPTP

Had to laugh, then cry, when I read this. Fuck me, at last, the penny/cent has dropped! It’s astonishing, really. Like I keep saying to my old man, if you believe in brexit, conservatism and all that bullshit, you should be shouting louder than me. You should be demanding better and require at least a basic level of competence from people implementing this stuff. The right wing press should hound these people to their graves rather than printing ‘this ladies not for u-turning’ nonsense.

Apologies if this is the wrong place for such an enquiry, but what's the post-Brexit situation when it comes to importing goods from EU countries?
It used to be that if you were buying something from, say, the US or Canada, and the declared value of the item(s) was less than £15.00, no additional taxes or other fees would be payable. (This may still be the case - the cost of shipping CDs from the States to the UK has become batshit crazy in recent years, so I almost never do it nowadays.)
Does this £15.00 declared value threshold now apply to items imported from the EU as well, or is there an altogether different setup in play?
Thanks in advance.
