"I've joined the Nazis by mistake."
It's been obvious what Farage is for over a decade, someone wasn't paying attention.

It really would be wonderful to see Lib Dems taking all these seats. I can't see the predictions of them being the second largest party coming to pass, but it would be good to see them becoming a real voice in our politics again, another voice to drown out the populists and the Tories. My concern is that over the last 14 years they have always ended up underperforming compared to their expectations from polls.

Well I've voted Lib Dem in my leafy Thames Valley super safe Tory constituency. You never know.

So the Tories are accusing Starmer of dog-whistle attacks and gerrymandering?!

Reform will just say the whole scenario was orchestrated by paid actors to discredit them, etc.

Maybe we could put together a crowdfunding campaign and get Farage to follow suit, minus the rope?

Im happy to spring for a rope, so long as it’s attached to another part of his body.

My concern is that over the last 14 years they have always ended up underperforming compared to their expectations from polls. According to a couple of "which party's policies do you most agree with" calculators I'm mostly aligned with Lib Dems. My seat has been a relatively safe Labour seat but there's a realistic chance it could flip Green. I would actually prefer it stay Labour though so might vote that way in case it makes a difference.

Can't remember if I mentioned it before, but my constituency is new. All the MRP polls point to Labour but some numpties decided to run a "primary" with the winner getting the tactical vote, with vote swapping suggested etc. Except no-one bar the Greens engaged properly which meant they got the nod. On the basis of 800 people giving a view. I've met and voted for the Green candidate before and if I was confident that the MRPs are wrong, I'd vote for her again. But I'm not and think it's highly likely Conservatives will sneak back in as a result of this split.

I’ve taken some solace that even if the Labour / Lib Dem’s vote does get split and the Tories take the area, at least they’re going to get so badly trounced elsewhere that it won’t make any difference on a grander scale.

I do find the far right surges pretty wild. It's like they're all going "surely THIS time having an absolute bunch of fucking whack jobs with no clear goal other than hating minorities running an entire country will work" despite seeing it end in disaster every time.
America is a special case but maybe it'll be good for France in the long term to let the colossal fuckwits screw everything horrendously to keep them out of power a while in the future. Truss did us all a favour over here in a roundabout way.

The Greens really should stop doing shite like this, we've had a natter with a bunch of people and we've decided this is a poll.

I just want to see that smug grin wiped off Andrew Griffith's big head.
Looking pretty unlikely to happen though. Only one tactical voting site is even suggesting anything, and that's more of a "lol, I dunno. Labour or Lib Dem" Lots of green and labour posters in people's windows around town though, which is slightly reassuring.

Anne Widdicome supporting Reform because they'll protect women from the widespread scourge of trans women, despite the party being apparently full of sexist misogynist gits. Got her priorities straight then.

Truss did us all a favour over here in a roundabout way. This has been my conclusion. Yes there will be damage done but for somewhere like France where everyone complains about EVERYTHING maybe they need some reality from people who promote simple solutions for complex issues and see how they get on.

I wonder if the bookies are taking bets on the number of strikes/riots/car burnings that will take place in the next 12 months over there.

Got her priorities straight then. The fact of the matter is that for most of them hurting people they dislike is far, far more important than protecting themselves from people who actually mean them harm.

Didn't Widdecombe describe Farage as sexy a few days ago?
You can see why she is famously a virgin if he's what gets her going.
Edit: I apologise for any mental imagery this may have caused to anyone reading.

I am curious to know the hiveminds thoughts on the effectiveness of placards outside people's homes. I assume their point is to try and influence someone's vote or is just for them to say, 'I'm voting for...'. Placards have never swayed who I vote for; I go with my own preference. I don't need a placard to tell me.

They probably do nothing but how can you know? Like any propaganda and advertising they do something for some people.
Around here there are only labour and Lib Dem signs, not a single one for another party that I’ve seen.

I think they can be useful. It can give a sense of momentum. In my constituency, I haven't seen a single Conservative placard, but quite a few Lib Dem ones. Only a couple of Labour ones. That can build a sense that the Lib Dems might have a chance here and prompt wavering tactical voters (like myself) to take a punt on them.
