Rubber banding (for want of a better phrase) in football games is just the worst. You've got Carthorse McShoe outpacing Speedy Gonzales. Drives me mad. Dynamic difficulty – But it doesn’t exist. They swore on Mirror’s Edge’s life, or something. |

I think with the big sports brands like your NFL, NBA, MLB and football stuff the psychological impact and the extensive product association has already been done that it would be almost impossible for a newcomer to try and make any significant ground. Just from a financial POV it would be a fool's errand. |

It is just frustrating that we can't have a game similar to the classic PES days. Every FIFA/EA whatever plays exactly the same. I either spank a team 5-0, or it is a tight 1-1, then scripting occurs for a set piece goal. So bloody boring. PES felt like a game of chess.

Annoyingly, they've had a few iterations along the efootball journey that have played a really good game. But they've usually fucked it up a couple of patches later.
The complete inability to keep the coop mode as anything more than a sporadic event made my friends stop playing, which had a knock on effect of me playing much less, and now really occasionally.

This has really done my tits since the latest 'update'. The coop event used to be on every weekend, but I think the last 2 weekends they haven't even had it on at all. It's clearly the most popular mode on the game as well - it's always had the shortest match-making. I don't know what they're playing at really. And I think the gameplay is currently the worst it's been. I think it was maybe 6 months to a year ago when it actually played pretty well. I partly put it down to all the teams containing 100+ rated players breaking the match engine somewhat. |

Spot on, the most recent big release seemed close to being there again, but the patches since have been backwards steps. Might have been around 0.9, as well as another iteration or two over the years, where it really seemed a great football game might emerge with all styles of play valid.
The worst part is coop makes it a good game. It reduces the impact the Ai has on it, and leads to a pretty good game.

When PES first came to the original Xbox it was a really special moment.
Such a fantastic series but it seemed to start slipping during the 360/PS3 era and never recovered.
