I dunno, passing feels worse, the players feel less responsive, the defenders just seem to run passed you. Only had a couple of games but feels like a step back from the previous one. Grass is nicer though. Feels to me like they’ve gone from 22’s packed defences and midfield parked in front of the goal, to LOADS of space to play in behind. Far too easy to get through on goal. Played a handful of games and then went back to pro clubs on 22, which I’ve recently been introduced to along with a group of mates and is an absolute hoot |

As long as speed and skill moves aren't overpowered it should be a decent game.
Other than the grass, how are the graphics?

As long as speed and skill moves aren't overpowered it should be a decent game. Other than the grass, how are the graphics? It’s slower and feels more solid, which in theory I’m in favour of - but like Decks said, something feels off with it. Might just take some getting used to |

New patch seems to have fixed most of the issues with the beta. Though it does just feel like a very slightly refined version of the last one now.

So, 23 Season 2 is out. The boy downloaded it and I had a blast at lunchtime. It's actually not too bad- I don't know if it's just been reskinned (assume so) but definitely plays much better than 22 did at launch. It's still quite quick, a bit skatey/floaty at times. And of course, crap menus and few game modes. I did quite enjoy it though.

Didn't check co-op. Still no single offline mode other than exhibition matches that I could see. There might be something buried in the MyClub/FUT whatever it's called though.
Oh, and the refs are still awful, with bookings for very little,

My friend and I play every day, and our mode is co-op seasons which has been dead on X/S for the last 2 years, forcing into FUT to find a game. It's now full of players playing the same way (dribble dribble dribble goal line cut back undefendable tap in) and everyone has the same team. It's really, really fun. Pro Clubs, on the other hand, is still a good laugh with people at least trying to play a version of football. |

What is it about football games against other people that brings out that nasty side?
Don't mind losing in any other game but a loss at FIFA/Pro Evo really bring out the worst in me.
A friend once lost in injury time and launched the PS4 pad at the wall, picked it up and pulled out the analogue sticks out of and then ran it under the tap in the sink as a coup-de-grace. Was in ASDA 15 minutes later buying a new pad.

Funniest reaction I've seen is a different mate who ejected the disc and launched it out of the window like a frisbee.
Spent nearly an hour looking for it on the field behind his house before he eventually found it.

It's worse when the game decides to fuck you over by selecting the wrong player or you defender turns into Titus Bramble.
I've had some embarrassing rage moments due to football games.

Rubber banding (for want of a better phrase) in football games is just the worst. You've got Carthorse McShoe outpacing Speedy Gonzales. Drives me mad.

Fifa 23 is actually really good imo. Playing career mode and some pro clubs. Gameplay isn’t quite peak PES but it’s pretty damn good.
Would love to have PES back with a revamped ML but it ain’t gonna happen.
