Unfortunately I think they are. The plot leak mentioned a scene where Neo sees himself as an old man in the mirror, and, well...

I hope it’s as woke as the last 3, so cunts can moan about it oblivious to the progressive message the original films had

This one shows a fair few more clips including a lot of bullet stopping. Hopefully it's good but they will never be able to have that holy shit feel the first film had. youtu.be/-L10MgkkhhEI would like the Twins to return. They could have been really good but got wasted. Remember reading they were cut from Resolutions though not sure what role they would have played exactly in that seeing as only about 20 minutes is set in the matrix.

How it sounds and how it turns out could be two very different things. What little I’ve caught on this form (I didn’t read the spoiler tagged spoilers) it would be a wild ride. Same thing goes for Nicholas Cage’s upcoming meta film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Neo and Trinity etc were cool computer people / hacker names 20 years ago! Any soft reboot should have the characters called dafuck42069 and er, billys_mum_gives_ed

Hey guys so I’ve been offered these 2 pills and I’m not sure which one to take, the red one stops me being a massive fanny while the blue one just doubles down on it. Has anyone tried either one

What's really going to bake your noodle later on is that it'll be a different time if you watch it now.

Are the Wachowskis involved in this? The only good thing they did was the 1st Matrix, so I'm not expecting much from this.

Heh, my immediate thought was "He's not even bothered cutting his hair for it, shows how much stock he's putting in to the project".
This is going to be a totally abysmal meta fuck fest isn't it? and I actually have a lot of time for the later two films in the original trilogy. It at least stayed true to taking all the silliness very seriously, whereas this looks like they are going to Saints Row it.

One of them is directing it and co wrote it.

I'm optimistic. Either way, it'll be entertaining and there'll be plenty to talk about. They made the film(s) that's the reason anyone cares about this in the first place, so give them some credit. Re: Keanu, I assume it's just because he's old now and looks a lot better with long hair and a beard

I think the problem with the sequels is that the most interesting things about the first movie are already put to bed. For me these are Neo's awakening, questions of reality and him becoming The One. The second movie doesn't really set up anything as remotely interesting. They tried, with Smith going to the real world, the architect and all that. But none of these new ideas really hit the mark for me. The sequels are predominantly the war against the machines, which is not a particularly interesting concept IMO and nothing novel. I think the Matrix itself is only in the 3rd movie for about 20 minutes, the rest of it is shit blowing up and bad CGI fighting. I enjoyed them fleshing out the world building a bit more in the sequels (although the Animatrix does this much better). The action is probably worse. They're fun movies but I think they are a bit of a let down because the first one is just so good.

I stupidly read that plot leak... If true then I don't actually think it will be awful, and the bits of trailer look quite good. Like others, I really liked the first one, but was far less engaged by the sequels as they bogged themselves down in Zion and philosphical babble. Still good fun to see in the cinema mind you. As it happens I think I'll watch the three of them over the next week or so as my boy is showing an interest in them. This will be the first time in a long time.

I'll give it a watch just so I understand the inevitable conspiracy theories that dribble out of the collective incel/maga/AV anuses over the decade

If you can watch them in 4K.
The first one really holds up well with the upgrade with just a few iffy looking effects like the spoon but always thought that looked a bit who framed Roger rabbit

I wonder if the expect people to watch the entire trilogy before seeing this. I'm not going to do that.

Sequels tend to require a knowledge of the prior story.

Nah, there's plenty of sequels that don't follow on from the story of the first one.
Dunno about this one, though. It is a sequel, but it also sounds pretty reboot-ey.

Other than stuff like Indiana Jones sequels with the same cast generally require knowledge of the the previous films.

Seems like there are a lot of elements from the sequels so I'd probably watch all 3 if you haven't already.
Who hasn't seen the Matrix trilogy at this point?

Why would you even want to see the 4th if you don’t want to watch 1-3?

Hi guys, just been watching Creed 2 but never seen the first one. Who’s this Adrian dude that his old uncle keeps talking about? Why did they hire a white actor to play his uncle anyway, was someone adopted?
