I kept thinking with the sequels they'd pivot and have it be apparent to Neo that the humans really were the bad guys (some of the Animatrix hints at this) despite all of Morpheus' lame Messiah rantings, but nope. Same old Messiah bollocks.
Like Neo smashing up half the town and killing god knows how many people when he's dragging all the cars behind him. Nope, zero repercussions. They're all just potential agents. And Smith becoming more 'human' even as most of the humans are more machine-like. Nope. Nothing doing.
I like the funky Geoff Darrow art design of the sequels and some of the music but the rest is awful. Although, god help me, the Merovingian has grown on me. At least he's amusing amongst all the dour expressionless guff.

If nothing else, the films put me on to the wonderful musics of Juno Reactor, so there's that at least. Fluke are also probably the other only other artist who hasnt really dated although 'Slap it' has probably aged a bit better than 'Zion' which they converted it into for the movie. |

It got me thinking - I am pretty sure I have the Revolutions trailer burned on a CD somewhere. Took all night to download from the office internet line and was about 320 pixels across!
