The new trailer literally shows shot-for-shot comparisons with scenes from the original. I'm hoping this is just the way the trailer is cut. I am pumped for the movie, don't get me wrong, I just really preferred the first trailer (think I watched it a dozen times). Yeah, that's what the first trailer did too. More blatantly, I though. Following the White Rabbit, meeting Trinity, Morpheus and the Oracle, being proposed the red and blue pills. Ehh, I guess I don't care either way since I'm going to watch it on HBOMax day one anyway, but I just didn't see this trailer being any more of a retread than the first. Fair enough! The first trailer really struck a chord with me for some reason (I think the music was a big part of it), so maybe I didn't notice that so much.

Only just noticed the old woman in the real world is Niobe.

I noticed the Niobe thing, and I'm wondering why she's so much older than Neo and Trinity.

Because Neo and Trinity’s bodies have been stored in machine pods in stasis for the last 60 years whilst Niobe has been roaming the real world, aging normally Allegedly.

Gotta admit, the new trailer is giving me a bit of hope this won’t be total wank

Hmm I'm not convinced... as far as action sequences then yeah it'll be good, like their other films. But any sort of plot since the original Matrix they have proper shat the bed.

Not sure why they felt the need to bring "The Kid" back. Wasn't he universally hated? We getting a Rage against the Machine track?

I'm a bit out of the loop on cinema stuff - does a 15 certificate film mean it's illegal for a 14 year old to see it in the UK? Or is it ok with a paying adult, like with 12A?
My eldest watched the original trilogy quite recently and I'd love to take her to the cinema for this, but even with a bit of makeup she won't look 15, she's a shortarse like me

Technically no, but it’s highly likely they won’t check

If you’re old enough to see a 15, you definitely don’t go with your parents… 😎

I’m probably going to take the girl to see and she’s 13 (she’s also 5’10” so no worries there).
Will it get a 15, though? Since the 12a came out, 15s are now like baseline 18s used to be. The original would definitely be 12a if it came out today, I reckon. Theres no effin and jeffin or anything.

I'm a cinema these days, one of you can be getting the tickets while the other gets the snacks. There's no way they'll check after that point. They barely even register your existence and just want to point you in the right direction.

You’d need a big pirate hat to cover your roof

Don’t forget you’ll have to wear your masks, so probably easier to get away with too

BBFC has it as a 15... www.bbfc.co.uk/release/the-matrix-resurrections-q29sbgvjdglvbjpwwc01mzmymje...but the cinemas are still saying TBC, so maybe it will get 12A after all. Reckon I'll chance it anyway, good point about us being masked up too.

I can't imagine this being very good... and yet i'm kinda hyped. Stupid lizard brain. I know it's an evolutionary holdover from when we were cavemen and needed it to survive, but I wish were weren't genetically programmed to get excited about old franchises based on music in trailers.

I'm no way criticising the wearing of masks in the cinema but having done it once when it was also mandatory.. proper horrible experience. Air con was mental.. could hardly breath.

I think that might have been a panic attack. I sat through nearly three hours of Dune in one and it was absolutely fine.

Hopefully it's a 12A but if not I'll probably take the boy regardless. He's as tall as his mother now and is regularly mistaken for someone years older than he is. He really wants to see it.

It was all I could think of since millions of people other than my self are able to put in full 12 hour shifts in them, so it does seem like a 'you' problem.

And you think diagnosing someone you don't even know having a panic attack is acceptable?

Huge amount of people on Cineworld social media that I've seen now all out refusing to go because of this mandate. If you really don't like it then bring in a load of goodies and feast your way through them whilst watching the film.

The best description I heard for mask discomfort was:
If you put a mask on, and you *immediately* find it hard to breathe - that could be a problem with the mask. Get a proper one.
If you put a mask on, and it's fine at first, but then *becomes* more difficult - that's not an issue with the mask. That can only happen as a result of a change in the behaviour of the wearer, unless you think the mask has somehow changed since you first put it on. Which is ridiculous.

This has been the girls biggest disgruntlement for the few times we have been to flicks. Masks on, even when its not mandatory and that also means no snacks. She would normally get through a bin bag full of popcorn but whats the point in wearing a fucking mask if youre taking it off every five seconds to shovel it into your mouth?

Not seen anything from Odeon yet with regards this.
