The discount is only for new members, so you can't stack. Shopto wallet funds are probably my best bet. Can't stack but since mine expires on 22 I wonder if it would count me as a new customer if I sign up again on the 23 for the 30%. I'll wait and see. I hope it's not for first time members. Existing members can stack. The BF discount is 25% for existing members, taking Essential down from £59 to £45. So bought a CDKeys £45 card for £39 and used those wallet funds to renew. It stacked onto my 20th Nov renewal date taking me to 20th Nov 2024. Saved £20. You're welcome.

Its 'free' on game pass. I dont know how much that affects perceived value. Its also a game I probably wouldnt have tried until it was dirt cheap because 'bloodborne pinnochio' sounds ridiculous but it is absolutely fantastic and would definitely have been worth the initial asking price.

I thought there would be a bit of a discount for BG3 but no dice.

Also looks like we're getting a native PS5 release for Last of Us Part 2. Other than a resolution bump to 4k I'm trying to think what else they could add to make it worthwhile. It still looks amazing today and better than some current gen games.

Ray tracing in that would look incredible. Plus the amount of extra details they could squeeze in.
Really chuffed with that as was waiting for a proper upgrade before a replay.

Haptics could add a lot to the game but it'd have to be something incredible to get me to buy again, same as Part 1 remains unbought for me.

Wait, it’s a separate purchase and not just an update?

Which option do you think they could charge 70 quid for?

I can't see them doing a director's cut cheapie upgrade like the other big 2020 game, Ghost of Tsushima.

I mean, they released the first game three times so its not exactly out of their wheelhouse.

I would probably imagine this might get a Game Awards announcement but we know how Sony can be.

Yeah it feels like it's going to be akin to the Uncharted Collection PS5 version, different performance modes, maybe a some extra content. Definitely based on the upcoming pc version. I think it's a crap shoot to see whether it's 10-20 quid upgrade jobby or a full purchase. I'm leaning towards upgrade but Sony might be following that same logic as Part 1 and making it a full purchase to grab new fans who have a PS5 and were introduced to it via the TV show.

It could be both, I suppose. I was going to say 'I'd definitely be up for a cheaper upgrade fee' but, no, I wouldnt. I really, really could not be arsed to play it again.

I think they more or less said GoT was going to be the last time a budget upgrade option was going to happen. I don't see a £70 job being a massive hit though so something has to give.

I think I'm getting mixed up with that thing people used to be able to do where you could buy the cheaper PS4 version of new releases and upgrade to PS5. As you were.

Oh and Jeff Grub who's always on the money has said that the KOTOR remake is dead, dead and Sony doesn't want anything to do with it anymore. I mean the writing was on the wall with this for a long time. I guess that's what you get for announcing something waaaay before it's even a thing.

Rather than spunking money on a portal I've been playing around with streaming to my Steam deck, which is actually a very solid experience. Would presumably be even better if I ever pull my finger out and run a cable to the PS5.
So of course I'm now considering spunking money on an OLED SD instead. Better screen and WiFi is becoming harder to say no to...

I'd probably say TLOU2 is my favourite game of all time but for fuck sake they need to give it a bit of rest. At least wait until the next HBO series is released.

Going to be a while for BG3 to drop in price, especially with the Xbox digital version probably coming out some time next month they wouldn't want to undercut that. In quite surprising news the Crucial SSDs that are PS5 compatible are pretty cheap on Amazon today, 1TB for 58, 2TB for £100. Weirdly the amount claimed is registering at 0% on my browser that seems really unlikely. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C34Y8C8L

One to consider is Nextorage as well - they have a 4TB one for £200 with heatsink and the company was started by ex-Sony engineers and bought up by the makers of the fastest SSD controllers out there.

If it helps, everyone seems to think that flash prices will go up a chunk next year so if you're going to buy a bigger drive you might as well do it now.

Stop it! But you are right, Samsung have already said they're upping their DRAM prices on a rolling basis next year so the good times of cheap SSDs could be over soon.
In other possible news, if it's true, it's clear The Last of Us Part II (PS5) is going to be 70 quid if they're putting in the effort.
And a trailer that was clearly scrapped from the back end of PSN as it's only 720p, release date 19th January 2024.
