No, they seem to have leant into it more this gen. It's a little easier than on PS4, and you can have different PS4 and PS5 primaries so you can share your library with two different people.

That’s great news. I assume he’ll need his own ps plus account for online play but he can just get essential and access my game catalogue.

He wouldn’t even need that I don’t think, if the primary has essential.

The above are true. Since the PS4 days, me and a mate have shared digital games. My console is set as his primary with his profile saved on it as well as mine. His console is set as my primary and we both have profiles saved on there too.
When I want to download a game from his library I switch profile to him, which then lists his games in the library - start downloading it, then log out and back into my profile. The game will then show on the front screen and playable when downloaded. He does the same at his end when wanting to access my titles.
On PS4 we had to time it so we weren't signed in on the console at the time the other wanted to access the library (switching to my profile if I was playing on my console). You could both play the same game at same time but not be signed in to same profile at same time. PS5 it seems you can be in same profile so you don't need to check the other is online or not first.

PS5 summer sale is live. The word "sale" is doing some heavy lifting.

DMC 5 PS5 version is reduced, will pick that up.
For anyone else with monster truck mad kids, Monster Jam Steel Titans 1 is also reduced.

Enjoyed what I played of it on the vita, so might as well double dip.

Hell yeah, its a bit light on the RPG elements for me, but it looks fabulous and the story is fine, new content soon and a complete rework of some of the systems to boot.
£20 is a no brainer

As Gruf says, it is getting a complete rework of some of the systems when Phantom Liberty drops in September. I believe many of the changes will be available to those who just own the original without the DLC too.
I picked up a copy a couple of weeks ago (on PC), but decided to hold off playing until the update. Particularly interested in the new skill tree, which is ditching all the dull percentage increase abilities and including more interesting active abilities. Nothing turns me off a skill tree than a bunch of "Increase damage by 5%" skills or whatever it might be.

Thanks, will give it a go Play as the female V to get better voice acting. You can also give yourself spectacular breasts.

The demo is still available on PS5, really enjoyed it but with my backlog I'm not in a hurry to pick it up.

He wouldn’t even need that I don’t think, if the primary has essential. This has worked a treat, thanks everyone. He’s got access to all my games and online play without needing to buy a sub. Perfect. Only thing I’m still struggling with is the parental controls. He’s 11 (although 14 according to his account so he can play fifa and Fortnite with his mates), but a pretty sensible kid. I thought I’d relaxed most of the controls but it’s still asking for loads of permissions. Hopefully once I’ve done it the first time it will be all good.

Is anyone playing Viewfinder? They were raving about it on this week's Nextlander podcast. Spotted it has a demo so will try it tonight, Portal/The Witness vibes apparently.

www.dealabs.com/magazine/apres-lespagne-et-la-france-la-console-ps5-sera-bientot-en-promotion-dans-ces-pays-25282A foreign website but it's authored by the leaker Billbil-kun. Anyway the PS5 is getting a good price cut, most likely because they're getting rid of stock to then bring in the PS5 slim with the optional disc drive unit sold separately which will replace every PS5 version as standard. Germany: €75 reduction , i.e. €474.99 instead of €549.99 United States: $50 reduction , i.e. 449.99 US dollars instead of 499.99 dollars Great Britain: £75 reduction , i.e. 404.99 pounds sterling instead of 479.99 pounds sterling

It feels to me as though it might suffer the way the likes of Maquette, Superliminal and Manifold Garden did, with a single fun idea that's initially spectacular but gets massively overused to the point where the endgame starts to drag. That's where the likes of Portal, The Witness, and The Talos Principle shone, with a strong handful of varied core mechanisms that opened up a wide variety of puzzle styles. One to add to the wishlist for sales.

I played Viewfinder for about an hour. Feels very similar in spirit to The Witness. Almost like a sequel. So far, there’s been a good variety in the puzzles and it’s been extremely clever.

I don’t know how true that is. It makes sense with the PS5 finally getting a price drop (after initially getting an unprecedented price hike), but it’s easy to mock up a PS5 Pro logo, since it’s literally just the PS4 Pro’s [Pro] bit added to the default PS5 logo. If it were true though, I’d only consider it if that “consistent 4K60” also meant while utilizing Ray-Tracing, because if it’s still either or, it’s a useless upgrade.

Lol "8k gaming". I mean if there's even a bit of truth to this it's just completely stupid. I think even DF have discussed this and even said there's nothing in AMD's portfolio to suggest it would be a big leap to justify a pro console. Also most demanding games on PC running at 4k60 use dlss, AMD's FSR2 is nowhere near it nor will FSR3. You're still going to have CPU limited games if you're working from the base PS5 console. Let's not even go near the conversation that we're barely into scratching the surface of the current consoles due to an extended cross gen period.

The dumb thing about the 8K gaming bit is that Sony themselves announced that when they announced the PS5, and they’re still advertising that on the box of the Spidey 2 Limited Edition console. But yeah, if they can’t do 4K60 without dynamic resolution, good luck reaching 8K.

Viewfinder is one of a small number of games that makes me motion sick for some reason. Call of the sea was another.
