Honestly, it's worth money. It's a fantastic 3D platformer that, later, really shows it's depth and skill to compete everything, and it's a great co-op experience with some soft competition as well as team work.
Play it with your kids or partners. It's awesome.

The music for it and how they implement it into the levels is the best bit. Great fun.

looking forward to it, it's one of those perfect psplus games, always interested in it but not enough to fork out cash...except I kinda did already.

We tried that once, but Montgomery was frightened and just kept barking.

Have been looking (and failing) to find a super solid co-op game to play with my daughter after It Takes Two, can’t wait (to feel old compared to her reflexes…).

Does this sackboy game still have the awful floaty jumping? No, Sackboy really has little to do with LBP - I never liked the LBP games, but Sackboy is fantastic - the best platformer to play with a kid/kids, and that includes all of Nintendo's latest efforts.

Good stuff, shall check it out then. Liked the theme of the whole thing but after playing the first and getting just a bit into the second the jumping stopped me having an interest in what followed so didn't keep up to date.

Played Sackboy with the 10 year old last night. Great fun. Even down to little things like trying to slap each other just before the photo is taken

I had a very brief look of Meet Your Maker but it's rubbish so that came off. Tails of Iron looks cool though. Didn't realise it was a 2D soulsy/metroidvania type thing. Looks quite pretty.

It does, doesn’t it. I confused it with the mouse-/rat themed pixel RTS from a while ago and almost hadn‘t tried it. Not past the tutorial yet, but I really like the hand-drawn style.

I had a very brief look of Meet Your Maker but it's rubbish so that came off. That was my early impression too - but having persevered a little more, I found myself warming to it. Only a little bit, mind. There are some big negatives - the absolutely awful “story” that it makes you watch at the beginning doesn’t help. Honestly, the context makes no difference to anything and this was not only bad, but badly told too. The tutorials are poor. This isn’t a fast paced shooter… it’s a slow, methodical puzzle game, but presenting it as anything else is just misleading and only causes frustration. Everything will kill you in one hit, so you can’t rush in without knowing what you’re heading towards. Caution and a lot of trial and error to learn maps is the key. The grappling hook is apparently a key feature but the only use I’ve really found is to get out of trouble fast. It’s notable that the tutorial didn’t even bother to tell you about it. Shooting is not great, mainly because the aiming on a controller is just off. I found myself strafing the targeting reticle onto enemies rather than right stick aiming - a sure sign the right stick movement is poorly calibrated. User created content is - inevitably - very mixed. Builders are incentivised to get kills, so spiteful, unfair, hidden traps are prevalent. Upgrades and unlocks are pretty bland, although in fairness there might be some good things at the end of the skill trees, but the game is so mean with its multiple currencies, it’ll take a long time to find out. Building your own levels feels like a cross between Minecraft and Fortnite. Again, the tutorial was pretty poor and the process is quite time consuming even for the basic level I constructed, so you’d need some real dedication to make anything good. But every now and again I found a genuinely good level someone had made and I could actually admire the creativity. Slow and steady is the best approach at “Raiding” - check blind corners and look behind you, above, under… take out traps or dodge the shots before you advance. I’m not sure I’ll play it long term, and it definitely could have done with a short set of “story” levels to introduce the basics of play. Throwing players into the highly variable community creations - some of which are downright unfair and frustrating- is not a good introduction at all.

I made that sound really shite didn’t I…
Basically it’s a neat idea, just not that well executed, and because of the community level design, it’s a real mixed bag.

Dreams being shut down in September.
Shame as I've always enjoyed seeing what people come up with in these sort of games. (Suck at actually making content)

Yeah that’s a shame but not surprising. It was impressive but extremely cumbersome in my experience. The sculpting with move controllers was really fun and intuitive though.

I never got around to Dreams, but it looked fantastic. I recall hearing it never sold particularly well though, so not hugely surprising it is closing down.
Might it be possible for fanmade sites to host the levels for download or would there be too much protection on the PS to prevent that being viable?

I’m not sure it was ever particularly well communicated what Dreams actually is. I remember talking to some of the designers at work who I thought would have loved it and they all seemed either completely in the dark or very confused.

I had a lot of fun with dreams, made a bunch of music and even a fully working game, including most of the assets, logic, animations, etc. If anything it gave me a deep appreciation for how bloody hard game development is.
Here's someone playing the game I made:

I'm sure someone must have remarked in it before me but having only just started Ragnarok, how did they manage to land on such awful ui and font. It's genuinely terrible.
